Had a Balance Due This Year,But....

I'm a CPA by profession...40+ years. Aside from 10 years with a now-Big Four accounting firm, I served as CFO and/or controller for several organizations with revenues from $50 million to $700 million .
I'm now retired (2015), but I've used this software from its inception, and never been disappointed.
What's great about it: Very easy to use. Took me less than 30 minutes to do my returns.
What's not so great: Nothing.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I moved, I bought or sold investments

Excellent Tax Preparation software

I feel the product has improved from year to year. I would like to see a help indicator e.g. "?" on items that do not contain a ' What is this' indicator. I didn't like I had to go the Help function to see how other customers asked my question differently.
I would also like to see a section if it is advisable to a customer to do income averaging to prior years earnings. Going from a salaried to a IRA distribution salary status this may benefit me.
What's great about it: Simplicity and clarification of the questions and answers of each item.
What's not so great: Improved "Help" feature of the software.

I will use Turbo Tax for as long as I can buy it.
What's great about it: Ease of preparation and walk through

In Box 2 for the 1099R from OPM they write, "unknown", which does not jive with your program. It is very confusing.
What's great about it: It has worked great for me now for more than 10 years.
What's not so great: Every year there is great confusion over Box 2 on the 1099R from OPM.

Fortes Taxes

Great product, I've used Turbo Tax for years. I'll tell you what sold me. Years ago I hired an accountant for a large fee to do my Taxes, I was suspicious of the results so before I sent them in I purchased Turbo Tax and transferred the information to it. It saved me several hundred dollars and I've been using it ever since.
What's great about it: Easily download info from last year. Has all the forms I need.
What's not so great: only 1 efile, I do my kids and elderly parents also, it would be nice to efile Fed and State without extra charges.

TurboTax now a long way from DOS days

1099s come in dribs and drabs and some of us like to enter them by hand as they come in. How about a short cut to 'Income' early on in the screens instead of several clicks every time you light up TurboTax to get to the 'I would like to enter them myself' button?
What's great about it: Covers about every question you could ask
What's not so great: Has become pretty complex. Haven't we all?

AOK after fix Deluxe to Premier 'Problem'

This is 7th year I have used TurboTax Deluxe and now goes quickly as long as not have significant broker entries. Love it.
What's great about it: Transfer from pervious year data makes input easy
What's not so great: Price would be toooo high if had to pay for Premier
