Super Easy

I have used TurboTax for about 20 years and they continue to meet or exceed my expectations. They continue to improve and make it easier to use. Before I tried TurboTax I was paying an accountant mega bucks.
What's great about it: Walks you through step by step
What's not so great: Too many ways to access, Cd, Download, Online and they don't play well with each other.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Hard to get started

If you don't have a W-2 form, this year's TurboTax was difficult to get to my starting point. On the HELP site, I found that other people were in my same situation so it wasn't just me.
What's great about it: Guides me through the process
What's not so great: It was harder to get to my starting place this year..........had to go to HELP.

Trouble in paradise

TT deluxe, aside from the gross mistake of moving schedule D onto a more expensive version (if it remains so next year I will not be using Intuit's product), unfortunately no long seems a accurate, automated method of tax data entry. Information from our W2 was not carried over on to my City of Flint, MI tax form for taxes with held, numerous fields for direct deposit, IAT status and others required manual entry at either the review or my own personal review. This product was much better in the past.
What's great about it: spoon-fed tax preparation
What's not so great: Details are falling through the gaps requiring manual review and correction
Pros: I moved, I bought or sold investments

Unaccustomed hiccups in the program

As always super easy to use, but this year the script errors gave concern as to the validity of the results

After all these years of doing Turbo Tax - it felt very weird having actually mail a tax return and attach W2's. The Federal was accepted and e-filed.
What's great about it: Everything I could not think of was asked
What's not so great: Could not file state because forms not available - NC 478 and 478G

2014 Review Refund

This year return went very smooth and fast. I like seeing last years information at a glance, Having infomation taken from last year's return inserted in this years return speeds thing along.

Multiple upgrades needed//would not process state

Filed same types of data using TT Basic for many years. 2014 Basic would not do Sch E and urged upgrade to TT Deluxe which would not do Sch E and urged upgrade to TT Premier. Premier processed federal easily, but would not allow processing of Illinois state return (which is part of Premier). Kept cycling through 'Updates' but did not open data entry mode.
What's great about it: After upgrading twice, filing went smoothly.
What's not so great: Two upgrades needed// would not process state return

What's great about it: Had several product issues with the deluxe version. Thankfully someone was able to help by phone and walk me through .
What's not so great: Deluxe version changed from this year to last
