e-Filed Federal-NO FREE STATE E-FILE with "Premium

Just OK for me this year. Mostly asked the correct questions and with expensive "Premium" version, provided correct forms. Seemed much more bulky and less informative than last year. Kept insisting I file a Mississippi return because of a gambling win reported in Federal AND Georgia taxes. MS DOR specifically states do not file MS Form for this type of W2-G. Have been using TurboTax for years, but will likely change to another company next year because I was really disappointed with both the product and price this year.
What's great about it: Mostly asked the correct questions
What's not so great: Tried to force filing unnecessary non-resident state return

Estimating next years taxes

You should add a tab for estimating taxes. At first you automatically estimate taxes based on current income. This was not useful and I had to search to find how to modify that estimate since next years taxes are very different.

Been using for years and have never had any problems. Turbo Tax uses previous year's submission to help a user prepare the current submission. That is if Turbo Tax was used the previous year. This is a big help in making sure all income and deductions are remembered.
What's great about it: Confident and comfortable with process

I will probably continue using TurboTax but I do not like having to purchase the premier version for 2015
What's great about it: I am satisfied with TurboTax. I wish you had not reduced the functions within the Deluxe version of the software.
What's not so great: The Deluxe version does not provide all the features that it did prior to 2014.

Very good program and you don't have to be an accountant to use
What's great about it: Import capabilities, ease of use, combination of forms and step by step views
What's not so great: Extra cost for schedule D this year

Easy - rent room(s) in residence

We have had one, and some times two, university students renting a room in our home over the past few years. Turbo Tax Premier has made it relatively simple to do our tax preparation myself during this period.I have kept fairly good records in Quicken 2013 (2014 and 2015 do not get good reviews) of our rental income and expenses. I used Quicken Reports to gather each years information to enter in Turbo Tax. The pop-up help this year in Turbo Tax answered all my questions without further research. This feature seemed much improved over previous years.
This year we sold our home. We moved into a senior housing complex where do not own our residence.. I was apprehensive that this would be a very complicated situation for tax preparation. It turned out to not be a problem. Turbo Tax Premier led me through the whole process in two half-day sessions. I did have to carefully read the instructions, and had to return to previous sections several times. It turned out to be a relatively simple process.
What's great about it: Quick tax preparation in complex situation
What's not so great: None I noticed
Pros: I moved, I bought or sold investments
