Dissapointed with state returns

Our city does not collect school district tax. Turbo tax kept automatically calculating our city withholding as school district tax. It would not allow me to uncheck the school district tax box and made me type in the school district we live in. Didn't file my state return through Turbo Tax. Very satisfied with federal filing.

I have used Turbo Tax for over 7 years. My father was my CPA, and before he passed away he had me use the software and he checked it out. He found 3 mistakes and they were corrected as so as I informed them of the problems.
It feels good to be able to trust in an error free program.

What's great about it: Easy to install, understand and use.
What's not so great: Was a bit difficult to put in a Federal retirement information...it wants to put it under the same place as an IRA.

Worth the money

I will definitely use this again next year. I couldn't connect with "It's deductible" that was disappointing.
What's great about it: All my info imported from last year! Got a good refund
What's not so great: Some of the questions on retirement income were confusing

TurboTax is a straight-forward program. I have used it for a number of years for my personal tax preparation, with excellent results. Only glitch this year was that I had to upgrade to Premier because I had a one-time sale of a timeshare interval and had received a Form 1099-S. Took a while to figure out how and where to enter the info so there would not be any tax ramifications. Succeeded and had TurboTax do E-file for me. Thanks.
What's great about it: Current updates on Federal & State tax codes each year. Accurate transfer of previous year's tax information to the cur
What's not so great: Difficult to find proper place to enter Form 1099-S information on sale of a timeshare. Used "trial & error" method.

TurboTax needs to create an option for people who only want to take the standard deduction, not itemize.
That would save time filling out forms that do not matter.

thanks for helping me with my mistake

I switched from a PC to a Mac, but all my info from last year did not come across. When I entered my employer's tax id number, I was off one digit so it was rejected by the Fed and State. Turbo Tax quickly pointed out the mistake and I re-submitted. Very smooth. Thanks.
What's great about it: You helped me correct my error and resubmit
What's not so great: You offered a free upgrade, but I couldn't get it to complete upgrade

Sooooo Disappointed

The wait time to obtain confirmation numbers to first upgrade to Premier and then again to file my State return electronically was ridiculous. Waited greater than a total of 4 hours. Why did I need a confirmation number to e-file my return?? This is new. Prior, I just entered my Visa #. Why did you have to make it so difficult this year?

This is the first time I've had to file a more complicated return on my own and knew I needed help. I did go on the IRS website to make sure I'd allocated everything correctly. And while I wasn't able to download the files, I was still able to enter everything manually without a problem.
Turbo Tax walked me through every step and then made me verify the important information. I am very pleased with the results.
What's great about it: Quick, easy
What's not so great: Unable to download Quicken Files
