Glad 2 Still Have TurboTax
on February 23, 2015

After quite a Rocky Start, I'm STILL glad to have TurboTax. I admit that when I discovered what I, like MANY, would say was a TERRIBLE decision to change the parameters of the Deluxe product, which would force long-time customers to upgrade to a much more expensive version, I was strongly looking at another software program to do my taxes. I am SO glad Intuit decided to retain the capabilities of their EXCELLENT Deluxe program, AND continue to provide it at its current fairly reasonable price. (Frankly, considering how complicated it is to do your own taxes, I would have rated TurboTax Deluxe an EXCELLENT, if it weren't for the MAJOR issues involving its rollout, this year. Hoping next year will be smoother...)
What's great about it: Continues Turbo's constructive User-friendly developments.
What's not so great: Form 1099B Walkthrough could be made clearer: The Broker's 1099b don't exactly match Turbo's boxes

OK but several questions remain ambiguous. Better treatment of Canadian based income but still not quite correct so will see what happens. No instructions on Canadian equivalent Social Security which should be treated like US. The less you know about actual tax law the better you will like it because you will not find the problems.
What's great about it: asks most of the right questions--but not all
What's not so great: One number entry will eliminate the period if you enter cents and show the entire entry as dollars. You have to over ri
