Easy but had to but more expensive product

As usual, Turbo Tax was easy to use. However, I was very disappointed in the fact that I had to buy Home and Business this year…just to include some of my investments. Stayed with TT this year…but will likely switch to another product due to price increase/product change.
What's great about it: Easy, quick
What's not so great: Had to purchase more expensive product this year

Making that which is complicated, simple

Great software, have used it for years. Allowed a "professional" to do my taxes one year simply to check myself; I concluded I did a more thorough job with Turbo Tax
What's great about it: Easy to use and intuitive
What's not so great: Wish it pulled up year ago info more readily to compare and contrast
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I bought or sold investments

Quick overview

Worked great with one hitch. Despite saving work in progress each time I exited the program it was unable to find the work in progress the next time the program was started and tried to start the returns from scratch. This only occurred after upgrading from Deluxe to Premier.
What's great about it: Comprehensive and easy to follow
What's not so great: Saved forms not recalled when program restarted. I kept having to find them for the program.

Deluxe Version No Longer Has Schedule D!

I have been using TurboTax Deluxesince 1992. Yes - that's 22 years. This year they downgraded the product and took out just 1 Form - they removed Schedule D. Which forced me into buying the more expensive Premier version - which is full of "managing your investments" features I don't need and don't want. Please put Schedule D back into the Deluxe version.
What's great about it: It's a great tax program.
What's not so great: Forced to Buy Premier Version to Get Schedule D

Turbo Tax: More Accessible, but a little longer

I've been using Turbo Tax for 15+ years and this year's version was as usable as any. The plain language and reassurances of "this is not common" is helpful. It can be a bit tedious to go through each question for the 1040 EZ type filer.
The state e-file fee is a point of irritation. Many states offer a free filing option. I may start plugging in my number and not file through Turbo Tax.

What's great about it: Enjoyed the simplified language and reassurances that many of the arcane section were just that
What's not so great: In being thorough, it took a little longer getting through all the parts that did not apply

Easiest year yet to fill out my tax return

I am amazed how Turbo Tax continues to make filing taxes easier and easier each year. I have used Turbo Tax since the earliest years of electronic tax filing and I give them three cheers for making preparing my taxes easier. When I think of all the software applications that make my life easier this is the best.

I have used TT for many years. I am certain this will be my last. The forced upgrade was a shock and in my opinion unnecessary. I am sure next year you will be forced to do the same thing if you choose Delux and have a simple rental. Why change if it worked before....Money!
