TurboTax 2014 Software Poor

Disappointed based on years of using TurboTax. May not use next year!!!!
What's great about it: Still able to import for Quicken and use last years return
What's not so great: 1) Blue helps did not work. 2) Saved doc opened w/ no info, started over 3) limited CON space here for more comments

Lots of problems this year!

I have used TurboTax for literally decades and found this year's version very disappointing, beyond the confusion over which version to purchase in the first place. Attempts at editing entries that might be in error were thwarted without info to advise how to accomplish the correction. Choosing exact pages to print (something I've done every year) was horrible. I ended up with 35 pages of worksheets I hadn't 'asked for' for Schedule D alone. Changes made to entries did not automatically flow to the right spot on the return. One 1099 Misc Income entry tried to force me to pay SocSec and Medicare taxes, although I clearly filled it in, as always, as not earned income. This is an item that I have reported every year without such a problem. TurboTax this year was, in comparison to past years, a mess. My return has been accepted, but if I get audited on this one, I won't be surprised. The software was difficult to manage and I have lost confidence that all entries were reported correctly. Very sad.
What's great about it: familiar step-by-step format. Easy transfer of prior info.
What's not so great: Very difficult to edit entries, compared to previous years. Terrible customer service for roll out of new TT versions.

Frustrated

I've never had as many problems with filing a simple return as I have this year. I've been doing my own taxes plus business taxes for over 50 years. Why so difficult this year. Much harder to navigate in my opinion.
What's great about it: Does take you through some of the main area's
What's not so great: Expremely frustrating to use thiis year

Turbo Technical

I've used Turbo Tax for 10 years. Each year the tax programs get better. I have very little trouble using the program. The K-l's are easier to fill out.
What's great about it: Uptodate, effecient, useful
What's not so great: 1099-B tricky to find at first

Exemption check should be included in the TurboTax application, rather than causing one to visit it online.

This is my 3rd year to use Turbo Tax. It is an easy, self-guided experience with help available to define vocabulary and concepts that might be confusing. With no background, I found my way through the maze of tax issues without too much difficulty.
What's great about it: Easy to follow the choices given with the explanations available
What's not so great: Takes time to figure out what is being asked sometimes.

Was mad I had to pay to file my daughters state return. It was the second one I did and my son later told me I could have done hers on your web site and filed for free. Why punish your customers who bought your CD. Also found the need to upgrade a money grab. Used your product for years but going to look at other products next year for sure. Greed has taken over Turbo Tax!
