Simple Return

I did my tax return in just a few hours. I had to return to it a couple of times because of update of some of my data. It was simple to complete and e-file.
What's great about it: The Turbotax was very simple to use.
What's not so great: Going all the way to the bottom of each page in order to proceed is a little annoying, but tolerable

NC State Military Retirement Exemption

The exclusions for income is not automatically included for Military Retirement Pay. Although they allow it if you ask for it.
What's great about it: This is a very needed line item that all retirees might not know about
What's not so great: it only has F, RR, B, or no exclusion
Pros: I bought or sold investments

State (OH) return says "Page 1 of 4" but there are only 3 pages - same thing happened for 2013 return
What's great about it: Apology and free upgrade to Premier
What's not so great: Not able to alphabetize charitable contributions list

Turbo Tax is excellent for average 1040. Recently, they keep changing which Turbo Tax you need to buy and with that raising the price that used to be included. Also the State is not included to file which is additional money, which is crazy to pay since you can file free at the State site. Just adds to your time because you have to add all of the information again.
What's great about it: Allowed to complete five returns and files them without cost. Guide or work on your own feature
What's not so great: Cost for the State and the state filing. Not thorough on Rental and property

What's not so great: Need some more information on more complex subject matter.

I have been usingTurbotax for years. It always performs well and gives me what I believe are all of the forms I need for my situation, without leaving money on the table. The program is very good at what it does.
The only negative is that I had to buy a higher level of Turbotax to get the auto-load from my investment accounts per the package inclusions. This increased my cost by about $25 for the program verses the version I bought last year, which a that time included what I need.
