Just One Problelm

During the Step by Step, I entered an Interest amount for Seller-Financed Mortgage. When I reviewed the forms, I discovered that the interest amount appeared twice on Schedule B and an associated worksheet. Although I went back to the Step by Step, I couldn't find what caused the problem. So I Overrode the duplication.
What's great about it: Very easy to assemble and enter all my information
What's not so great: Needed to override in one instance

2014 Experience
on February 20, 2015

This year I was required to upgrade to Premier. Also, I was unable to purchase an additional state. Both of these situations required telephone assistance from turbo-tax support staff. I have never had to call in over 8 years of turbo-tax use. That said, the support staff was knowledgeable, helpful and resolution was quick.
What's great about it: Easy - self tutorial
What's not so great: This year a little more involved than past years.

We have been using Turbo Tax now for more than 15 years. If you choose to figure your own taxes, it is the most convenient way. Turbo Tax leads you through step by step. It lets you decide how to calculate your taxes. Following the steps allows you check and see if certain deductions apply to your specific tax situation. Using Itsdeductable allows you to put values on the everyday items that are donated to charities. I do not look forward to doing my taxes, but Turbo Tax definitely allows me to do them without loosing my sanity. I plan on using them for many years to come.
What's great about it: Guides you through if needed. Compares to last year's return. Tracking deductions. Easy step-by-step guidance.
What's not so great: It's still figuring your taxes, need I say more?
Pros: I moved

Quality Slipped this year

I had an issue first with the PA state taxes. It counted my income twice which introduced a penalty and an enormous state tax. I finally figured out what had happened. I had to manually delete the state income form. It repopulated correctly. I am still not sure if the form was corrupt or what happened. It also did not carry over my points for my mortgage. I had to manually populate the form to figure the amount left over I was allow to deduct for this year. I had already deducted 7 years of 15 and refinanced the loan in 2014. So, I was allowed to take the 8 remaining years deduction this year. This oops almost cost me to miss a deduction and a potentially large miss on my refund
What's great about it: easy to follow step by step
What's not so great: did not carry over allof the deductions from 2013
Pros: I bought or sold investments
