Life made easier

My whole family is more at ease with Turbo Tax.
What's great about it: Guide
What's not so great: a little slow

have used turbotax for approx the last 9 years and each year it gets easier to use and complete quickly.

Needed to file paper this year

As a co-owner with my son on savings bonds, I cashed them and sent him all the interest (he lives overseas). To ensure that the interest was not taxed as my income, I had to issue him a 1099-INT. That requires a paper filing. Turbo-Tax needs to ask the question, once, if there is a need for paper filing and then quit nagging the user to file electronically.
Other than that, I had no issues using the product though I was more than a little upset with the new packaging. I am not sure if I will get the rebate as I am not filing electronically.

What's great about it: easy to follow instructions
What's not so great: does not take into account need to file paper due to issuing 1099-INT

I have been using Turbo Tax for a number of years now and love the way it walks me through every scenario. This year, however, I was totally confused about which version to buy and felt I had to upgrade to Premier. I understand next year I can go back to Deluxe.
Love ability to efile so easily too!

Offered & accepted Premier- I have modest investments plus one rental property . Previously used Basic to file without problems. Premier a bit sophisticated for my needs.
What's not so great: Probably more complex than required for my modest investments
