I bought Turbo tax because I had special situations this year. Turbo tax expected me to know the answers.
I usually do my taxes by hand. Next year I will. I tried answering questions and did not get a response.
What's not so great: I still had to know the answers

Although I got caught up in the Deluxe ~ Premier snafu, Turbo Tax was quite professional and considerate.

Best Way to Prepare Tax Filings

I have used TurboTax for years. It eliminates errors in calculations and helps to clarify/resolve tax questions. The price of the product is more than offset by the convenience, accuracy, ease and timeliness of preparation and filing of tax returns.
What's great about it: Easy to complete; appreciate downloading to investment data; a true timesaver!
What's not so great: Foreign investments/taxes/credits somewhat confusing.

2014 turbo tax program

First of all Minnesota had trouble accepting the returns.
Second the program I purchased had to be updated to take care of selling stocks.
Third the menus were not as friendly as they have been in the past. It was harder to find what I needed, wasted time to look for the items.
Fourth I seemed to be going in a circle with the Mn state tax, somehow clicking on the wrong buttons!
Just liked the 2013 format better!

What's great about it: I have always liked the step by step method.
What's not so great: The program has changed for the worse since 2013.

Program works great, Asks the appropriate questions for relatively painless tax filing
What's great about it: Good at importing last years data and banking data
What's not so great: Not all financial institutes have all info online
