This is our 12th or 13th time to use Turbo Tax. Some years are easier than others.
What's great about it: Fairly easy to follow questions.
What's not so great: Not all questions are answered.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I bought or sold investments

Final check problem

I did a check for errors when I completedall my entries. Check found no problems. However I did not e-file then. I e-filed 2 days later. I repeated check for errors. 7 were found, while none were found 2 days before.
When I thought I had finished all my entries, doing so by the step-by-step method I later discovered that I was never asked how I wanted my refund - and I wanted it by direct deposit. When I discovered this I overwrote the direct deposit which later turned up as an error that I needed to correct. It would have been easier if it was included in the step-by-step method.

Highest quality program

I have been using Turbotax for many years. With my many sources of income from multiple states, I would be concerned about using any other software.
Easy to use, walks you right through each and every income and deduction topic. Imports information from Banks, Trading partners, and last years file. A real time saver.

Easy straight forward process

As normal the TurboTax product was easy and straight forward to use and understand. My only complaints are the inclusion of an unnecessary Estate K-1 form that took awhile to find and delete after showing up on the check/review. The second was the efile PIN process. The program indicated a set of Pin numbers while I was completing the process, but during the efile process sent me to the IRS site where I was asked to input information for a new Pin. That was ok, but the old pin and date showed up on the final signature. Had i not caught and corrected this I think I would have been in trouble. Hope you can prevent this type error in the future.

Not as good as previous years

While still adequate, this years version was not up to par with earlier versions. Some forms were not included and step by step was confusing at times. Have never had to use customer service until this year. The customer service phone contacts were excellent.
What's great about it: Calculations and customer service help were excellent. Customer service was all that got me through.
What's not so great: Step by step lacking, forms missing that were in previous years versions

Cost me a lot of money

Moving Schedule D caused me to return Deluxe, buy Premium and upgrade my operating system which required software updates and confusions of all sorts. NOT a happy part of the tax season.
That aside, Turbo Tax is still and unquestionably the very best for people who prepare their own taxes...using either the guided or independent route, all possible events are included. I've done the independent for many years now and appreciate the consistent approach and thoroughness of each area of concern.
I will be back next season!
What's great about it: I love Turbo Tax and thank you for your good work.
What's not so great: Moving Schedule D to "premium" was not a good thing

Great Product

After doing my taxes manually for years I tried Turbo Tax. The first year, it was much easier because a tiny error was simple to correct instead of redoing all the forms. The second year was even better because I only have to enter things that changed.
I tried other tax software but none compared to the ease and accuracy of Turbo Tax. Keep up the great work.
What's great about it: Quick and Easy, Imports previous year and shows differences, Good help

Easy to fill out. I found everything to be simple to use. Good explainations of the topics and extra information was there if needed. I felt things were written clearly . I would have liked a better explaination of how and when to bring in the information from prior years.
What's great about it: Step by step instructions. Easy to go back to check or finish.
What's not so great: Could only import information from last years return at the beginning. Couldn't add it later.
