Easy Time With Complicated Situation
on February 16, 2015

Turbo Tax has always made it easy; from importing personal information and last years information, to helping us with the new Health Care forms, it was a snap. Thanks again; "see" you next year.
What's great about it: I have a complicated situation with having to compute dozens of cost basis entries due to a bond fund investment.
What's not so great: I can't think of any cons.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I moved

Turbotax sure beats the hassle of going to a tax filing shop and paying them big bucks just to take my info and put it in the right spot on the forms.
What's great about it: Explanations of every category makes it simple.
What's not so great: Having to pay extra for state filing and refund fees.
Pros: I bought or sold investments

Seems very streight forward with questions

I found that the program got my age wrong on State taxes. It said I was 55 this year but I'm 57 so it had me paying a penalty on retirement. Check birthday in personal info and it was correct. Could not find a phone number to call and ask someone how to change the age on the form.
What's great about it: good interveiw questions
What's not so great: Added my birthday wrong so that I had to change date to get it right so I didn't have to pay taxes on my pension.
Pros: I bought or sold investments
