Simple

Have used TurboTax software for years and was upset at how the upgrade was handled and I actually switched to a competitor then realized my mistake as it did not support the download of my investments in their product! So I returned and doing the return was a snap. Worth the few extra $ for better product and support.
What's great about it: ease of use
Pros: I bought or sold investments

Software bug - needed to reinstall
on February 16, 2015

There is/was a bug in editing data from the Step-by-Step view to actual entries on the forms which resulted in a $1000+ error in my return. The only evidence of the error was found by manually reviewing forms vs. step by step view.
There does not appear to be an easy way to verify the software accurately carries over data, for example a simultaneous view of Forms and Step-by-Step. The IRS won't care if you thought you entered data correctly on a Step-By-Step GUI (which you might have), they only care about what was sent to them in the Forms (which wasn't correct and was not what the GUI showed).
The built in reviews and checks have no "common sense" checks and did not detect the problem, e.g. "you entered two new cars at the same price, that might flag an audit, are you sure"? In fact, the software wouldn't fully delete the other car but only showed one while calculating two - you could only remove it by manually editing the Forms, not within the GUI.
I can see the same type of error being possible with other deductible expenses like medical (two major events), or other losses (sold the same stock several times).
Intuit "fixed" the problem for me by authorizing a new, free download, and recommending I re-enter all my data rather than carry-over a possible problem to the replacement version, So adequate customer service after the sale, I suppose, but poor execution in the original software. I got to do my taxes twice! Hurray!
Next year I may revert to full manual calculation with paper forms, since that's basically what I had to do this year in my reviews after I discovered the software error. My W-2's and some 1099' s and 1098 couldn't be downloaded since my employer and banks don't fully participate with Intuit, so it's mostly manual data entry anyway. And no, using Quicken doesn't help unless you have the latest version. Quicken 2012 stopped supporting tax calculations for TY 2013 - the "still supported until April 2015" Quicken Premier 2012 has no options for exporting 2014 tax schedules.
What's great about it: Walked you through
What's not so great: Produced hidden error

2015 Highs and Lows
on February 16, 2015

The program is simple and easy to use. Similar to the thousands who commented previously, the sudden change that required upgrading to Premier because of investments was poorly thought out. There should have been some indication that Premier was now required since the back of the Deluxe box had the same check marks as previous years. I appreciated the offer to return the extra fee paid, but the experience was disappointing, especially after 10+ years of using TurboTax.
What's great about it: Step by Step as always, easy and clear
What's not so great: Issue with surprise upgrade requirement. Also issues with the Minnesota filing status.
Pros: I bought or sold investments

Even though I selected dividends and capital gains where joint they were listed in T and SP forms. Needed to correct manually.
There was a carryover form that listed PAG with a carryover. Do not know where that came from.
What's great about it: Imported 1099
What's not so great: Errors in some forms
