One More Time
on February 15, 2015

I've been using Turbo-Tax for years and have not had a problem at any time. Sitting a your computer and following the interview sure beats finding and going to an accountant. The E filing is another great feature.
What's great about it: Ease of use, information carry-over from last year

2014 Forms easy to follow
on February 15, 2015
Posted by: Fitchla
As a multiple year user of Turbo Tax I use the select my forms Interview option. The forms are well designed and have clear questions and helps as required. When doing what-if tax options removing the interview entry sheet may not remove the tax forms created. So it is a good idea to save a master copy of the tax record and create work sheets for any what-if options used, Other that than issue TT is a great tool for home tax users.
What's great about it: Good form layout, logical question progression
What's not so great: If you do any what if tax situations be aware the you TT may not delete some of the forms.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

tax return completed, not smooth, but still good

the product still works good...was very disappointed that I had to return original software and get upgraded to premier due to functionality of investment income being moved to more costly package
What's great about it: automatic calculations
What's not so great: had to upgrade from last year without communications

I have used Turbo Tax for over a decade and there isn't a tax scenario I've encountered that it didn't handle simply and correctly.
What's great about it: The most comprehensive and simple to use tax return software on the market.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I bought or sold investments

e-filing instructions misleading
on February 15, 2015
Posted by: SlavB
E-file does not work with last year's PIN and last year's AGI info. New PIN is not possible to get online or by phone from IRS. However IRS telephone message indicates that PIN is not required and for last years AGI to enter $0 (even if it is not correct number) in order to e-file.
No explanation as why amortization for rental property changed from 27.5 years to 40 years. No explanation for accounting/amortization method of rental properties - not sure if selected right option.
What's great about it: software fills out tax forms
What's not so great: expensive as for what it does (see above cons), misleading instructions (e-file)

As good as it ever was...

I have been using Turbo Tax for 10 years, I listen to others bemoan tax season or talk about free tax submission online. I don't trust those people, I do trust Turbo Tax and tax season is just one afternoon in February, thanks Turbo Tax.
What's great about it: Always know what to expect, always clear and easy to use.
What's not so great: Price, seems to go up every year
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I bought or sold investments

I was a bit worried this year because I inherited investment income, and had never dealt with that before on my tax return. I used the TT Premier edition, and imported all the info from my investment company. It was EASY-PEASY! So we will now wait and see if the IRS agrees!
Pros: I bought or sold investments

difficult to print specific pages
on February 15, 2015

This is similar to the deluxe versions of turbo tax I have used in the past except more expensive. I don't like your lack of a good printing capability. There are some excellent screens that compare tax years, but I am unable to print those pages. When I try to use my print page, all I get is your generic print menu which requires too many pages. You need to work on this aspect of your program.
What's great about it: easy to follow instructions
What's not so great: printing
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)
