filing using Turbotax

No experience with competitive software. had to call support to upgrade, then again to repair state tax filing.

2014: It's that time again!

Turbo Tax delivered the same look and feel with a few short cuts over last year. Made for a little less data entry but changes were a surprise. Still did my full 1040 and State in just a few hours, start to finish including e-filing. I love the ability to stop and save and continue later. I never worry about losing my place. Let's me look up info for a new bit of tax filing that I hadn't done before.
What's great about it: Same detailed guided tour.
What's not so great: PDF Save choices don't all seem to work as in prior years.

More streamlined and concise

The software gets better every year. This version was more concise the way the categories were grouped. I didn't have to ask as many questions to get through a section. It was a bit less pushy than previously.
What's great about it: fewer questions but still very thorough

Easy Peasy

Super easy to understand what information is needed.
Anyone could do their own taxes with TurboTax program!!
What's great about it: Ability to upload info from broker was SOOOOO simple and quick!
What's not so great: none
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I bought or sold investments

Have used for turbo tax for several years. Like how it transfers information from previous years returns. Questions are easy to understand so can fill out the forms correctly. Can put in different scenarios to see how taxes are affected, for future reference (do I increase my charitable donations or not).
I generally don't sit down and completely fill out my taxes at once, information is added as documents come in. For those areas that I know will need to be revisited, would like to be able to manually highlight them as needing more information. Or maybe for those areas that I know are complete, can manually lock them as done.
What's great about it: lots of questions, to help fill out forms correctly
What's not so great: wish it had a "manual revisit" option
