Makes it easy every year

Love the program and it makes easy for me to do my own taxes. This year I helped my niece understand just how easy it is.
What's great about it: I just have to preview what I did last year and make changes as needed.
What's not so great: I wasn't pleased that I had to buy Premier just because I sold one stock.

2014 Taxes

My local tax entity CCA has told me that the TurboTax program does not address all the requirements for an auto-fill form. I used it in 2013 only to end up paying a penalty and a tax due amount.
Not sure what the technical issue is with CCA but would LOVE it if it could be worked out between CCA and Intuit as the CCA forms are not much fun to work on.
Otherwise, I've used TurboTax for many years and think it's great!
What's great about it: Quick and simple

Refund Time

Turbo Tax is an excellent program which will save the user a vast amount of time in having to read each and every tax form in detail. A software program like Turbo Tax is a must given the complexity of the current tax law.
Turbo Tax is very user friendly and generally asks the right questions.
A person can make mistakes using Turbo tax or any other tax prep software. It helps if a person with some knowledge of the tax law can review the final tax forms before the tax return is submitted. Turbo tax does provide a review service for a fee.
What's great about it: Program saves me a vast amount of time
What's not so great: In some instances, it helps to know the tax law

Overall good

Turbotax is nice in that it takes all the tedium out of the tax process. I don't have any situation that is complicated enough to merit having a professional do it, but I don't want to fill out all the forms myself. Turbotax is nice for that type of user.
One bad thing I noticed this year was that I qualified for an energy credit that it did not give me through the step-by-step guidance. I had to manually edit the form to get it. It wasn't really that hard though, and the software let me do what I wanted.
In summary, as long as you understand your tax situation and it's not too complicated, TurboTax is a good time saver. It's not a replacement for understanding what your tax situation is, but it allows you to avoid having to hire a tax adviser.
What's great about it: Removes the tedium
What's not so great: I did have to manually add a tax credit that it didn't ask me about
Pros: I had a baby, My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

2014 Turbo Tax

I did not like some of the new sections. The state tax sections that had to be individually button pressed instead of just asking the question, seemed to take longer.
What's great about it: Most sections were okay.
What's not so great: Took extra time.

Smoothest TurboTax Program Yet!

I have been using TurboTax for over 20 years and this year's was definitely the best. It automatically knew what I had done in previous years so did not ask me again (although it had a place where I could make changes if necessary). Completing the return and filing were super easy as they had my pins and personal information and payment information already included. I truly do not know how they could improve on this program. Smooth and easy to use!
What's great about it: Easy to use
What's not so great: None that I could see.
