Makes doing taxes palatable.

TurboTax allows me to do my own tax reporting with minimal stress and I can store the forms electronically.
What's great about it: Step by step guide. Automatic alculations. Data transferred seemlessly. Access to investment data electronically.
What's not so great: Still need to have data to input. Some questions can be difficult to answer.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I moved, I bought or sold investments

Worst version of tubo-tax ever!
on February 24, 2015

I am not sure I will ever use turbo-tax again unless you go back to the early 2000 to 2009 versions! They were user friendly and easy to use!
What's not so great: Hate the format, and the way editing is so difficult, very user UNFRIENDLY.

Pulling up a return to work on was extremely slow. I have been using Turbo tax since it came out and this seemed excessive.
What's great about it: Accuracy, E-File
What's not so great: Slow to load
Pros: I bought or sold investments

Better each year

Turbo Tax is easy to use. Walks you through the various sections clearly with a minimum of superfluous information. I like that it lets you compare this return with the last year so you can pick up any changes. Have used it for many years and will continue to do so.
What's great about it: Has all historical data so it's easy to just add each year
What's not so great: None Noted

On a scale of 1 to 10 (10 being best) I would rate Turbo "2"
What's great about it: Helps me prepare my tax return.
What's not so great: Will not print a return from within Turbp Tax.

Problem areas
Unable to import "its Deductible" or print for my records
Sale of land and the 1099S section was very UNCLEAR
Turbotax kept asking me for a financial institution and account number and a 1099B which I did not receive because I received a 1099S SALE of Property
There was absolutely no Guidance on imputing this form 1099S nor any Guidance on land improvements deductions as I had the Land cleared to be more attractive for sale.
I still have not resolved either issue
What's not so great: Problem areas Unable to import "its Deductible" and 1099S
Pros: I bought or sold investments

Not Pleased

Required product upgrade to accomplish the same task as last year. Increased complexity since I had to plow through business-related and other "upgrade" categories with no need for them. Got boxed in with irrelevant questions about student status and could not omit. Wanted to print return and was given the choice between print pdf or print preview. Selected preview and could not proceed further until I finally discovered that the greyed out page behind the preview overlay was actually live and that I could print with the print tab in the greyed out area. For me the upgrade was a giant leap backwards.
What's great about it: It Does Your Computational Work
What's not so great: Upgrade Increased Complexity

What a racket!
on February 28, 2015

I completely dislike the fact that I constantly need to select no thanks that I do not want your extra audit protection.
Also - what a racket - that you can not at least e-file one state return with this product!!!
Then to pay the 19.99 out of a refund you want to charge $34.99 OMG - I do not think I will use your product next year.
What's great about it: none.
What's not so great: trying to collect extra fees for audit protection!
