Easy to do

Excellent and easy to use software. I have been using it for over 8-10 years with very minimal if any complaints.
What's great about it: very basic, easy to understand information
What's not so great: sometimes you have to go to the forms yourself to include info( example-where to direct deposit)
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Questionable security

The state return rejection for Minnesota residents along with the price will have me looking for a different tax filing software next year. My perception is that your company hasn't been forthcoming on the recent security issues.
What's great about it: familiar; used this last 10 years
What's not so great: too expensive; forced to use deluxe

What's up this year?

This year Turbo Tax (2014) ain't what it used to be. I have used the product for several years now. Wonderful! This year the program was inconsistent, confusing, and outright wrong. Everytime I would continue my work, it was in a different place with no answers populated (yes, I saved). It stated "based on your information, you should file nonresident". I have lived here all my life and checked it on my forms! One time it would let me take child care credit, the next time it says I do not qualify because my employer did not pay for care. What?? I stumbled through and pray to heaven I do not get audited because I am not sure there is not a major mistake somewhere....
What's great about it: It does the math.
What's not so great: Is it correct?

Overall I love TurboTax, wouldn't do taxes without it. Only negative was entering information for federal pension (1099R). System kept asking questions as if it were a 401K or IRA distribution, which didn't apply.
What's great about it: Takes through all possible entires, does all math
What's not so great: Confusing on entry of federal pension information (1099R)

Nice experience over 10 years or more with annual submission of my State and Federal taxes; always confident that year to year data has carried over, tracks well; has saved me prep fees year over year
What's great about it: Ease of Use; transfer of data year to year

Disappointed This Year

I have used TurboTax Deluxe for years. I was going to buy it again this year until I heard about the changes made to the Deluxe edition. I purchased the Premier edition. I needed to be able to complete Schedule D. I know that TurboTax is refunding money on the Premier edition which is all well and good. If your are going to make changes to TurboTax, you should make it very clear early on what changes have been made. A person should not have to wait until he loads the software on his computer to find out something had been changed. Do better next year, if you want me to buy TurboTax then.
What's great about it: Directions were clear and complete: Ability to retrieve info from last year's return.
What's not so great: Changes made to TurboTax Deluxe this year.
Pros: I bought or sold investments
