Depreciation

I expected the computer to allocate the depreciation just like it does with the expenses on my rental but it didn't. I feel the program should have done that.
I also didn't like that I had to upgrade from deluxe to premier this time, I only have one rental and no stocks.
What's great about it: The "walk-through" is nice.
What's not so great: allocation if expenses on rentals

Easy to complete

TurboTax is very easy to understand and complete because the information is in layman's terms. I like the examples it provides to allow you to make informed decisions on where credits and deductions should be placed. thank you TurboTax!
What's great about it: I have been using TurboTax since 2007 and I love being able to do my returns at my own pace.
What's not so great: Inform filers more often if items were transfered from federal forms to state forms

What's not so great: Multiple misfires with turbo tax packages

I am very happy with Turbo Tax. It is easy to use and I get my return super fast. I've been using Turbo Tax for the last 4 years and I have never ever had a problem.
What's great about it: Easy to use
What's not so great: none
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Simple and easy

This is the first time in 40 years that I have filed my own tax returns and at first was a little uncomfortable but as I started , the guide on how to use and walk thru each step turned out to be very comforting. The ease to download the 1099's and to fill in the proper spaces on the returns was fantastic.
I would reccommend Turbo Tax. It felt as if I were in paridse when I efiled both returns.
What's great about it: Very simple to use, much less cost than a CPA, Download 1099's
What's not so great: None

Life's a Breeze

A wonderful program that takes you through the program step-by-step, yet also allows you to proceed with items as you chose to work on them. The real blessing is that the program takes your data and then does all the computations and prints the tax forms accordingly. I'm not saying tax prep is fun. . but almost. The only other things I would like to see offered by Turbo Tax is an ongoing program throughout the year where one could collect the pertinent tax info as it is available and then import it for the year-end tax filing. Also, it would be nice to see a comparative chart showing 'average' or 'typical' figures for the various fields so one could see where there might be 'red flags' or questions about a particular item on their return.
What's great about it: One of the best things about Turbo Tax is that it leads you through the steps with all the explanations.
What's not so great: Haven't thought of any yet.

Tax Time

I'm a long time customer of Turbo Tax. The changes this year between Deluxe and Premier was a major set back in price value for the software. This was clearly driven by a hair brain business scheme to increase revenues without actually providing a value added benefit to the user. Big mistake from Intuit's business team. I will clearly be looking at your competitors next year.
What's great about it: Turbo Tax makes the process so much simpler, with an organized process flow.
What's not so great: Not happy with the changes Turbo Tax made this year
