Great product for the past 19 years

Great pruduct
What's great about it: Easy to use especially for yearly changes in life and tax laws
What's not so great: Hard to add another state and get help
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Taught me what I didn't wanna know

Was forced to complete a TT2013 return using TT2013 software in order to get accurate imports (and reliable consequential calculations) from that file for TT2014's return. This action, of course, required deleting the previously-started TT2014 return and redoing it with imports from the 2013 return. Quite frustrating! Very disappointing!
What's great about it: Speed of calculations and navigation
What's not so great: Did not accurately import 2013 Tax Data.

Easy as 1,2,3

This is so easy to do . Just input your info and they do the rest. We have been using turbo tax for years. Always easy. One year i had a question about the results. I did my taxes and redid them. The results just didn't seem right. They seemed really off. I took our taxes to one of the local tax people. I paid these people quite a bit just to have them give me the same results that I had already gotten when I did them myself. I took them home and never questioned Turbo Tax again.
What's great about it: Put the info in and they do the rest

When I hit the print button, the state return was watermarked "Do not file form not final" and the federal return did not include the mailing instructions. TurboTax 2014 seems to have a number bugs in the program

some things more difficult to do

I didn't like the change in the rental properties area - in the past it has been quite easy to enter several properties. This year it was more difficult to do and then I had to go back and fill in a bunch of stuff I didn't get asked for in the first place. I ended my session before doing the deductions for maintenance, etc, and had a hard time figuring out where to find it. Still like the software though. When I was doing my daughter's taxes, you ALWAYS ask for the 1098-T information even though I have already said she can be claimed on someone else's (my) taxes ... that is a bit irritating and a waste of time.
What's great about it: I don't have to go through forms and figure out how to fill them in
What's not so great: Things changed this year making things harder to find

Most entries were easy q&a format, but some calculations (Simplified Method and stock sales) not clear.

Turbo Tax

Would like to thank Turbo Tax for correcting or compensating people that used it this year, because of the error in the program.
I have been using Turbo Tax since 1984, except for 3 years in which I was not sure it would be able to assist me because of some unusual circumstances that arose.
Really love the program and have suggested it to others.
What's great about it: Best program out there and easy to use
What's not so great: Time consuming when you call in for assistance. Phone number not easily found in program.
Pros: I bought or sold investments
