Love Turbo Tax prep software and have used it for years. Makes doing taxes much easier than the old know the laws and codes, calculator/pencil method used when I prepared taxes for a national tax prep company. No more reading a fine print manual or tax form. Turbo Tax guides you right through the process with pertinent questions for each taxable situation regardless of your income derivative, possible deductible expenses and charitable contributions. The only thing I find missing is addressing clergy housing allowance ....DESIGNATED IRS CODE SECTION 107(2). A 1099 Box 2a is left blank, Box 2b is checked taxable amount not determined. Unless you physically insert in Turbo Tax 0.00 in Box 2b (which you should not do) the entire amount from Box 1 Gross distribution is automatically assumed as the taxable amount despite having documented housing expenses against it. If clergy housing was addressed, I would give Turbo Tax a 5 star rating
What's great about it: Guidance questions, transfer of info from previous year, ability to see forms, previous year comparison
What's not so great: No page to address clergy housing allowance

Good Software

When it comes time to select where my pension is generated from, my only choices are either Federal ( US Government ) or State Government. In all actuality, I worked for 22 years for the City of New York. If that were made an option, it would make it much easier for City retirees and take away the guess of should I check the NY State box ( the only option).
What's great about it: Ease of Use
What's not so great: Difficulty with New York City Pensions

great refund

overall I like using Turbo Tax. The only thing is, I wished they would give a little more information on using the form for truck driver expenses and how to get all the information quicker into the form.
What's great about it: easy to follow
What's not so great: not enough information on expense forms
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

I've been a big fan of Turbotax for many years.
My 2015 Turbotax would not let me see data source and override entries like in all past years. I don't need easy step and would prefer to go directly to forms to prepare my return

HAVING USED TURBO TAX SINCE 1998 I FIND THAT IF YOU JUST ANSWER THE QUESTIONS WITHOUT TRYING TO BE CREATIVE YOUR RETURNS ARE DONE IN NO TIME.
I FEEL WITH ALL THE HACKING AND CYBER THREAT STRONGER SAFEGUARD WOULD BE ADVISABLE TO KEEP INFORMATION SAFE.
What's great about it: STRAIGHT FORWARD COMMON SENSE TAX PREP
What's not so great: STRONGER SAFEGUARD FOR THEFT

NOT ONLY EASY, BUT FAST AND THOROUGH! I CAN'T BELIEVE I DID MY STATE AND FEDERAL TAXES IN JUST A COUPLE OF HOURS AND GOT THEM WIRED TO THE IRS. THE SOONER I GET THE MONEY, THE BETTER., AND INTUIT TURBOTAX MADE IT POSSIBLE.
What's great about it: THE PROGRAM TOOK ME THROUGH EACH STEP SO I DIDN'T MISS ANYTHING
What's not so great: NOW I HAVE TIME TO CLEAN HOUSE!

Easiest way to get a refund

I have been using Turbo Tax ever since I was old enough to do my own taxes. I like how they set up the grids and you can choose whether or not you want to go through a section. If you are organized and have all the necessary paperwork, it's as if you are going through it step by step with an agent, except that the agent is you.
Another great thing about this product is that if you do not have a clue as to what you are putting in, they have examples and explanations as to why or what it is your inputting into your tax form.
Overall a great and easy experience!
What's great about it: Easy to use UI, Step by Step instructions, help available instantly, great customer service!
What's not so great: I honestly didnt see any
Pros: I bought or sold investments
