Handled extensive investment portfolio

I've used TurboTax for the last 12 years to do some very difficult returns with many extenuating circumstances. If your tax situation is simple, it's a breeze. A little more complicated? Not too bad if you don't make mistakes. Extremely complex -- it will still do much of the work for you, but you better have some experience and know what your doing to avoid getting into a tangled mess. The first time I did a very complicated return, I backloaded a certified tax accountant's tax return from the previous year to get a feel for what's involved, as well as to have carryovers already established for the previous year. K-1 imports are great, but doesn't always fill in all the necessary blanks, requiring a manual review to be sure nothing was missed. Would I buy TurboTax again? Absolutely!
What's great about it: Much of the work is automated
What's not so great: If you make a mistake, it can be difficult to clear errors later on

Helpful Tax Filing But Improvements Still Needed

Sale of Long Term stocks was difficult to understand. TurboTax was much easier than the IRS forms. However, more information is needed for some entries, such as how to determine cost basis or market value for stocks that have split.
What's great about it: Nearly every option had fairly easy to understand explanations and automatic computation.
What's not so great: Erroneous entries were very difficult to correct or edit. Often the entire entry had to be deleted and re-entered.

stumped for a title

could not easily locate deductions for rental depreciation - could not easily find how to add the values we previously used for the depreciation we used on our rental in previous years -

Most things easier than last year!

I downloaded my investment records from by brokerage, but TurboTax kept finding errors in the data and asking me to correct. Obviously I had no idea how to correct downloaded data, but eventually I found that if I deleted the questionable number, Turbo seemed happy. I know it could have been my brokerage's fault, not yours, but I wasted a half day trying to figure out what errors Turbo was trying to get me to fix. To me the downloaded financial data looked correct.
Non-The-Less, I love Turbotax and will use it again next year.

I have used Turbo Tax for years. I always dread tax season but Turbo Tax really takes the stress out of the tax process. The explanations are clear and very understandable. By the end of my tax return I feel really good about myself that I can do this. Love the price. Really can't beat it.
What's great about it: Easy to use. Very clear explanations.
What's not so great: Haven't found one yet.

Turbo Tax has been my tax software for my personal return for longer than I can remember.
What's great about it: Easy to use and options for experienced users to go directly to the forms needed.
What's not so great: Some worksheets require a lot of extra information.
