Incredible Software, Service, and Expertise

I was skeptical about using Turbo Tax, My tax attorney and accountant had been collaborating on my family's taxes for over 20 years, and there were so many compications. My hired experts would ask me to dig up information for weeks during the preparation. Despite all my friends' recommendations to use Turbo Tax, I was certain that my taxes were more complicated than any pre-packaged program could handle.
This year, I finally gave in and tried TurboTax, and I couldn't be happier. It's a simple, step-by-step approach, and when I got stuck, a simple phone call to Turbo Tax experts cleared things up quickly. There is no waiting on the phone when you call. If their queue is long, you can give them your number and they will call you back within a relatively short period of time (my wait times for Turbo Tax consultants to call me were usually less than a minute, and never longer than 3 minutes, even in the height of tax filing season).
Turbo Tax populates your state(s) income tax forms from the data you gave it for your federal return. It works smoothly, and I challenge anyone who claims it is easier to have your taxes prepared by an outside accountant. I'm a recent convert, but I'll be a permanent one.
I had some complicated life events this year that made things about the tax laws difficult for me to understand. My customer service representative on that particular phone call asked me for permission to look at my return-in-progress, and together, we worked on it and solved some of the issues I was having with how to report certain things. He was in NY, and I was in CA, and we might as well have been sitting next to each other at the same desk. (I had to first agree to letting him see my return-in-progress before he could see it, to protect my privacy, of course). This tool makes the interaction with TT experts a phenomenal experience.
Hint: I recommend using the downloadable version of the software, rather than the online version.
What's great about it: The software and resources behind it are truly incredible. Mind boggling.
What's not so great: I can't think of any, seriously, this is a great service and time saver.
Pros: I moved

More time spent on more details

I have done my taxes on TurboTax for years and this year it's better organized. My only gripe is the detail required in the health expense area which I attribute to Obamacare. TurboTax does a good job helping with where to put the different kinds of expenses, but could perhaps do better.
What's great about it: Easier than ever to go back to make corrections, well organized, tips on what to enter and what not to enter.
What's not so great: Too much new detail in the health expenses
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

When I updated before filing it change the amount I had over paid. Then it put the old amount in the amount to be credited to 2015 taxes. Could not find where the change came no matter where I looked and it was over $100 difference, with my over payment being reduced. I finally just changed the amount to be credited and filed. Frustrating!!!Connectic
What's not so great: conflicting input
Pros: I bought or sold investments

I had to do much of my own calculations and explanation when I did my retired ministerial housing allowance. Giving more direction on this issue would help me and many other ministers both active and retired.
What's great about it: figured out everything even when I made a mistake
What's not so great: not enough on deductions (see below)
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Stack up all the W-2, 1099, donation receipts. Connect to Quicken. Connect to ItsDeductible. March through the papers once. Review and ponder how could the US tax code be so complicated and filing taxes could be so easy. Tax Form Magic!
What's great about it: Easy and comprehensive- normally an oxymoron
What's not so great: Haven't found one yet- will tell you when I do!
