2014 Premier Return
on February 9, 2015
Posted by: Barford
After having a few problems with upgrading to Premier and some forms, I got through the completion in no time with the help from Turbo Tax Support.
What's great about it: Very easy to use and has been accurate over the years
What's not so great: Nothing so far

Pretty Good, and Reliable

I've been using Turbotax for many years. This year seems to be relatively smoother...each year things get easier. I am also pleased that you have eliminated a lot of the marketing rigamarole at the end of the process. That extraneous stuff was irritating in past years, coming as it did just after one successfully filed.
I will stick with it for 2015.
What's great about it: I love being able to insert new tax data whenever it's available to me, rather than "in sequence".
What's not so great: Not helpful enough with RMD direct rollover to a Qualified Charity, available under 2014 IRS laws. I

A Little Cumbersome
on February 9, 2015
Posted by: NealBrewer
Over the last 10 years I have been using this software I have never had a reason to respond to one of these reviews but this year was a little different.
1) My first issue was identifying the level of software. Typically you have premier listed on the package. This year you had the functionality on the package and you had to look at another list to see if it was the premier package.
2) The filing process was very cumbersome this year. You asked me for my AIG. I provided it then you asked me for a pin number. I thought in the past it was an either or. If I provided the AIG I did not need the pin number.
3) Lot's of problems saving the files this season. It became very frustrating.
4) All of the questions regarding health care. The software asked me the same question about three different ways regarding the status of my health care.
Bottom Line. This years version of the software wasn't up to the same standard as previous years.
What's great about it: Does al lthe math & leads you tho the preferred form
What's not so great: Some of the interview questions are hard to decifer

Great, if they hadn't messed with the feature set
on February 9, 2015

I continue to be disappointed by Intuit's choice to change the feature set on Deluxe - which I have been using for near a decade now. They were helpful enough to upgrade me to Premier because I complained about the change in feature set, only to find out that Premier doesn't handle sole proprietorships either! I finally gave up and did the Schedule by hand via forms view. At this point, once I paid for the software, state downloads (I need a second state) and state filing fees, I might as well go to a paid tax preparer. Will not be auto-renewing next year unless this gets resolved.
What's great about it: Very clear
What's not so great: Features were dropped from Deluxe
