I love the easy to file but the additional cost to add states and e-file seems excessive.
What's great about it: Information carried over each year
What's not so great: Cost to e-file

Especially like the guideance thru K-1. In past years I have spent hours reading the instructions. Easy to keep documents and input organized. Conficdence that you have experts to lean on if questions arise.
What's great about it: No need to spend hours reading IRS instructions and fine print.Efficient and accurate.
What's not so great: some concern about pricing issue for 2014 version.
Pros: I bought or sold investments

Excellent and easy to use

This is great software as it walks the user through some of the most complicated returns. It has a few small shortfalls - we could not duplicate the accountants previous year's depreciation schedules.
What's great about it: Good help getting through Rental Properties
What's not so great: Difficult to import returns from non-TurboTax formats
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

My tax situation has become increasingly complex over the years and the product has proven to handle it with ease. The wizards have evolved wonderfully.
What's great about it: easy to use with centralized records
What's not so great: not the best experience transferring from PC to Mac

MLP K-1's and headaches
on August 30, 2015

Turbo tax is supposedly better than Tax Cut but TT needs to make it simple to enter the information on the sale of an MLP when it is a PTP (publicly traded partnership). Just read all the comments and "work arounds" on the TT blog!
What's great about it: It was mostly straightforward entering K-1 items.
What's not so great: It was very confusing entering the correct information re: sale of units
Pros: I bought or sold investments

Need Help Trust Fund Grantor Tax InformationLetter
on August 30, 2015
Posted by: broadmeadow
I am a beneficiary of a trust. The trust sends me a Grantor Tax Information Letter annually. Turbotax has no provision to enter the amounts listed in the Tax Information Letter. Please add this feature.
What's great about it: Generally easy to use
What's not so great: No form for Trust Fund Grantor Tax Information Letter
Pros: I bought or sold investments

Love Turbo Tax
on September 2, 2015

I have used Turbo Tax for years. One year I used another tax program and was so sorry. I will continue to use TT.
What's great about it: Love the automatic calculations
What's not so great: Don't love having to go thru a ton of pages to change one number.

restarted my return
on September 2, 2015
Posted by: Jprice318
After I had completed the e file it took me to a screen about signing up for automatic Turbo Tax updates. Then it got me into a loop wanting me to start my return over again ???? K forms are not the same as those given to me by companies and therefore were difficult to make sure I was filling them out right
What's great about it: easy to use
What's not so great: put me in a loop to restart my return
