Generally good, but Form 1116 section is a terrible. Way too much work to enter information on the form that is already entered. Also, requiring a separate program for Sch C expenses is unconscionable.
What's not so great: Form 116 module is horrible. Way too much extra work.

OK for any standard return, but for certain transactions leaves a lot to be desired.
What's great about it: easy to use
What's not so great: hard to override in certain situations.

Tax Refund experience for 2014 return

Other than the lengthy time for the CD disk to load the filing and asking of questions went very smooth for my tax filing.
What's great about it: I still did my taxes in under 3 hours
What's not so great: I had the CD disk and it took a long time for the 2014 program to load

Need to try harder

I've used TTax a long time. It is consistent and reliable, saving me lots of time year to year.
What's great about it: Transferring data year to year is great. Documentation and tax help are pretty good.
What's not so great: Quietly migrating features such as capital gains and Schedule C into the pricer version is shameful.

Premier 2014 less usable than prior year ediions

Review of Premier 2014
Overall, it seems that TurboTax is "overautomating" the product, with the result that tax returns with any level of complexity beyond plain vanilla are harder and more time-consuming to do than in previous years.
Example: I have certain small "unusual situations," such as a pension paid from an overseas source that does not furnish 1099-Rs. . In previous years TT pulled all the information forward in the 1099-R section from the previous year, including the "missing or incorrect 1099-R" status for this pension. Did not happen in 2014 version. I had to go back and manually do the 4592 form for "missing 1099-R" and undo the info for that pension that TT pulled from the 2013 return. .
Similar issues in other situations that would seem to be fairly common for the investor/property owner customer that Premier is aimed, such as interest paid from loaning out securities.
In past years, the "link to data source" function enabled the user to go back and make the necessary adjustments. Not in the 2014 version. The "link to source" function usually did not work.
My recommendation to TT is to provide the user more control or options in importing information from previous year's returns.... example -- import the answers that the user gave to interview questions the previous year, to enable the user to retain the answer for this year or change it, rather than puzzling through everything again.
Other: I use the Hawaii state return. This is a simple return, but TT does not really do it well.
Major failure...does not provide the N-158 Form, which every filer who has investment interest expenses must file. it is a simple form, easy to calculate from Federal Tax Return information, but TT does not do it. Perhaps because N-158 filers cannot file electronically.
Also, the data source link simply does not work in the Hawaii State return.
So -- overall review...TurboTax Premier 2014 still useful, but not up to previous year's standards or usability.
What's great about it: Easy to use for TurboTax veterans
What's not so great: does not handle info imported from prior year's return well; more glitches
Pros: I bought or sold investments

I have used Turbo Tax for a number of years now. I've read some of the on-line criticisms and while I'm sure they have some merit, I find that the ease of use and thoroughness of the system to work for me.
What's great about it: Easy to use; feel as though they know what they are doing
What's not so great: Many, many questions not appropriate for our situation but I guess they are necessary for some users.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Next year I'll use another software after using turbo tax over twenty year.
1. Deducted money from my account twice 2. Important information was missing from my tax return 3. Still have not received my return but was charged by the turbo tax software... TERRIBLE!!!
What's great about it: this was the worst year using turbo tax, the program made errors
What's not so great: The forms kept saying need updating, put the wrong info on the forms, deducted money twice from my checking account next
