I REPEATEDLY COULD NOT GET THE RETURNS TO PRINT AND HAVE WASTED HOURS TRYING TO DO SO.
HAVE BEEN USING PRODUCT FOR OVER 20 YEARS AND MAY SWITCH NEXT YEAR.

Gets the job done...eventually

Federal very complete with very good error check and convenient importing.
Context-sensitive help hasn't kept up with the ever increasing complexities--typically too vague to be of much help.
Still no straightforward way to handle publicly traded partnership K-1's that you sell during the tax year. Workarounds still needed. Program should have input for the sales info provided by the partnership in their K-1 package and a built-in mechanism to prevent duplication of the sale with the 1099-B data from the broker.
Expense of e-filing the state return is unjustified after paying so much for the Premier program needed to handle investments.
State return for Oregon has a bug in the info sheet where Federal Pension income is adjusted for Oregon. Data carries here from prior year--in duplicate--and there's no way to get rid of the duplicate without overriding. User should be able to delete the duplicate payer if needed without overriding.
Oregon return context sensitive help is woefully inadequate. You need to consult Oregon's Pub 17 1/2 to get the arcane addition and subtraction codes presented in a usable fashion; there should be direct links to that pub in the TT Oregon software.
What's great about it: Federal very complete with very good error check
What's not so great: Federal breaks it down into too many steps-takes forever. Oregon very buggy.

So-so for International Filers

Handled the basics very well. I'm sure it would work great for any U.S.-based tax-payer with a straightforward return.
Support for international taxpayers is minimal. It completes a Form 2555 well enough, but the foreign tax credit process was not clear at all. It might have been faster to do that by hand.
What's great about it: Does well with the basics
What's not so great: Confusing for international cases

filing an amendment is very confusing

When entering data initially, the follow was well organized. The option to go back to previous screens works well.
As a whole the software performs well and easy to use.
What's great about it: Forced to use premier where delux previously did the same job.
What's not so great: On amendment. Review indicates 4 errors but only one error shows up.

Please fix automatic downloads

I recommend this product to everyone I know. But it is extremely frustrating when installing the product and it won't download the updates.
What's great about it: Love the product. When I have all my documents, it only takes a couple of hours
What's not so great: This is about the 3rd or 4th year in a row that I have had to call for assistance with the automatic downloads
