A little more previous year
on April 19, 2015
Posted by: JimBobWho
Property taxes can be paid in two installments. The previous year gets one installment, while the current year gets one installment. Seeing the previous year installment on a worksheet would make this process less error-prone.
What's great about it: Previous year filing data appears next to this year entries
What's not so great: Previous year worksheet data is not always carried over

Great customer service
on April 19, 2015

The interface was straight forward. Easy to use, the GUI guided you through the sections easily.
The clicking of none is a nuisance. Some places it's helpful so that you don't forget something but for the very odd portions of the interview it should be the default.
Also, the fact that I had to go from the Deluxe to the Premier because I had typical investment income, e.g., dividends, sales, etc. On the plus side, the upgrade was free. Next year, it should either be included or free upgrade in the future.
What's great about it: Ease to create, help when needed.
What's not so great: 2nd year in a row that filing didn't work and I needed customer service.
Pros: I bought or sold investments

you need to fix the protocol for printing the filing extension form. It is very frustrating. I wanted to print the form to file and extension. It is horrible. Someone has to fix this.

Surprise

Have been using the Deluxe version since 2007 and really liked it. Would rate 2007-2013 as 5 stars. But what a surprise in 2014. You fixed the Schedule D problem witha free upgrade, but still disappointed with no state return included. You should have highlighted those changes better.
What's great about it: None
What's not so great: No schedule D wirth Deluxe, no state return with Federal

No GA Efile
on April 19, 2015
Posted by: baileyvo
I have been using the product for many years. I've moved to a new state last year. This years version called for me to pay 30 more bucks for something I used last year. I HATE there is no GA EFILE. Had I know this, I would have not purchase the software. What other states are not supported? I had to rush out and snail mail my return. Not cool.
What's great about it: easy to install
What's not so great: Had to pay extra to get forms I got free last year, NO GA EFILE. Not mentioned anywhere
Pros: I bought or sold investments

This is good tax preparation software

Ten years now using Turbo Tax. I was dismayed about the way they changed the 2014 version toward the end of 2013, but they wisely revised these plans, otherwise I would have considered a switch to Quicken. This is a good piece of software, and hopefully it will be left alone in the future. It works well - don't mess with it. I plan on using Turbo Tax next year.
What's great about it: Relatively easy to use

Good but still a challenge
on April 19, 2015
Posted by: AZBagLady
I have used TurbTax for years and believe it does a good job, but I can't help but feel I am missing some very important deductions like my quartlery broker fees to manage my investments. I have never figured out where that goes. I don't pay commissions, but a quarterly fee. I don't have much but I pay them $4,200. a year.
What's great about it: Efficient and quick
What's not so great: Hard to locate where to place misc items like broker fees
