Had difficulty with the fees and adjustments on ESO reporting. Spent well over an hour trying to get a $15.08 fee to be reported correctly.
What's great about it: Easy to complete. Downloads worked.
What's not so great: Instructions on ESO were incomplete.
Pros: I bought or sold investments

I continue to like using Turbo Tax to do my taxes!

The overall rating of using Turbo Tax is Excellent !
The program gathers important information on my past filings and reduces the time it would take to retrieve the information and re enter the data. Calculations are always correct. It shows where the return process stands and compares with your return of the prior year. It allows the use of entry on a form or go through the process of answer the questions.
I have used Turbo Tax and Quicken for at least 15 to 20 Years.
This year I had to re-enter the K-1 trust form as it did not remember from prior years entry. Not sure why?
It allowed me to get through the foreign taxes paid question without making me go through circles( More than one country in an Investment fund by the trust. Minor amount, but no information by trust to definitively answer.
The process of electronic filing has gotten better this year as well as the review process when you are done. The up-dating of revisions that were done were more seamless and efficient.
The automatic process worked much better this year to pre-order next year Turbo Tax software. I wished that the automatic process would get the next years Quicken version with a break in price. It seams to require me to have to call to see what can be done. I like to upgrade my Quicken as well as get the next years Turbo tax.
I am retired.
What's great about it: I appreciate it remembers what I have filed before and is accurate.
What's not so great: The offer to coordinate with upgrading Quicken is not seamless and requires extra work.
Pros: I bought or sold investments

Your product doesn't seem to be getting easier, it is getting less helpful. My tax situations haven't changed either or are no different than what I have had to deal with in the past. Nothing new to deal with. Transfer from last year should mean transfer all data and ID where if came from and provide cross reference by mousing over and show link/address/etc. More explanations. Help is useless and should again relate to the section you are on. Using the community is a cop out and has always been a pet peeve of mine. You end of with instances of multiple answers and no clear indication of which one is correct. You also try and fool people into thinking some of these people answering are related to or associated with or employed by intuit.
What's great about it: walks you through but..
What's not so great: getting less helpful over the years
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I moved

Getting better each year
on April 18, 2015

Many sections are so well broken down and clearly presented that I think they are goof proof. However sometimes turbotax doesn't give a choice that fits. For example, on a 1099-R the word "Unknown" is in the taxable amount box. Turbotax talks about The General Rule for Annuities, but the tax code is just so complicated that it is still hard to calculate. A reference to an IRS publication is not what I want. How about a worksheet that at least works for most people's situation. But all in all, I have been using Premier for the past 5 years and it has saved me a lot of time and frustration.
What's great about it: Straight forward, mostly clear cut
What's not so great: Still doesn't give enough choices when tax form is blank.

Turn-key Solution - Thoroughly Comprehensive
on April 18, 2015

Turbotax is a reliable and trusted solution for completion of my family's income taxes. I depend upon the "guide me" sections and appreciate the comparison snapshot from year to year as well as the indications of audit risk and support.
What's great about it: Partnership with It's Deductible
What's not so great: Need to purchase additional upgrades
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I bought or sold investments

absolutely terrible Today is the 18th and the program is stipp going in a circle and will NOT let me filemy return. Will not use again and will advise others not to use it .
Refer to service files 411271660 and 411381694. The people were excellent.
I work during your hours of operation and cannot try to get this done during that time. I finally mailed both federal and state forms,; after paying TurboTax. the program is so good that my name is rejected "can only be letters or numbers"

Marvelous except for one big and one small problem
on April 18, 2015

My problems are these:
1. In doing my son's taxes, Turbo Tax insisted on entering $500 as the amount of federal taxes withheld even though the amount entered on the W-2 was $670. It did not accept the override, so I could not file electronically.
2. This happens each year. We pay our son to take care of us (we're 91 and 92) and file Schedule H. Even though I handle this and I am the contact person, Sch. H does not let me put my name at the top; it uses my husband's name since he is the taxpayer--and I am the spouse. I think it should allow the person officially listed to be entered--although the IRS has not protested so far.
What's great about it: Very easy to enter info--great to have the info from previous year.
What's not so great: I had two problems that TurboTax should look at. Explained below.

Tough to correct
on April 18, 2015
Posted by: ForrestDamon
Turbo tax was very friendly all the way to the point where I e filed it. It said everything had been reviewed and was good to go. Unfortunately, my return was almost immediately rejected because I did not have form 8962, the Premium Tax Credit form. It appears that turbo tax, did in fact, do the calculations for the form, but it was not e-filed with the rest of the forms. I could see the individual form that showed numbers that i had previously input as answers to turbo tax questions, but this seemed to not exist when viewing the tax return as a whole- either in the e-format or in the hard copy I printed for my records. Quite frustrating trying to figure out exactly what I needed to do in order to correctly amend my return.
What's great about it: Super user friendly all the way to the point of e-filing
What's not so great: tough time amending the rejected return
