Another year, another return, another headache

The main flaw with this program is the boneheaded exclusion of MacOSX 10.6 Snow Leopard compatibility. Just for yuks, I prepared my 2014 taxes with a competing product, and - after repartitioning & installing Mountain Lion - with TurboTax Premier 2014. Needless to say, creating a single-purpose partition with a different OS version than my daily production environment is a hassle.
In some ways TTP2014 _is_ superior to the competitor. For example, the Easy Step Interview is significantly more-thorough.
But there is one flaw with TTP2014 that was maddening. After properly entering Form 1099-B short-term sales, which passed muster with the Federal Review, the same data was improperly transferred to the State Return Schedule D/E. I got several "Excess characters on line 7" errors that were INCREDIBLY difficult to correct. Maybe my state's return was wonky, maybe _all_ states are. Don't know.
What's great about it: Still familiar after 18 years with earlier filings
What's not so great: Boneheaded exclusion of MacOSX 10.6 Snow Leopard compatibility

TurboTax has been my "go to" tax preparation software for many years. Each year I see improvements in the program. I like the comprehensive features and the sound guidance. The interview process is a great way to start and then I like the fact that you can revisit sections as needed.
What's great about it: I like the easy interview process in TurboTax
What's not so great: Tax code is too complex, but TurboTax helps

Been using TurboTax for many years. Turbo Tax is easy to use and navigate. I once considered using a Turbo Tax competitor but was very disappointed in the application although the price was cheaper. But you get what you pay for.

I like the questions that guide me to decide if I need to enter information in certain categories.
What's great about it: I don't have to enter the information that remains the same year to year.

Even Better Than Last Year

Easier and more intuitive than last year. The search and help functions allowed me to go directly to sections that I wanted to update. It was easier to access supporting data from last year's forms. I no issues or problems to report for this year.
What's great about it: No charge for the Premier upgrade to handle one roll over
What's not so great: No problems

Wash sale wringer

Overall, very thorough; looking up forms is a helpful way to get extra details; tax planning and doing estimated taxes is not very strong -- need the program to do more of the work, particularly on treatment of investment income and AMT
What's great about it: Turbo tax community was very helpful; very supportive; great resource
What's not so great: TT treatment of wash sales was very confusing; not sure the interview gives enough options on managing carry forward
