Good Tax Preparation Program

Excellent experience using Turbo Tax

- I would have appreciated an icon/link that I could click on to save my return several times while working on it. Having to go to "file" first and then to "save" requires an extra step that I would prefer not to have to do.
- I had one problem last year with my 2013 return where I reported the sale of an annuity fund that was supposed to be tax free because the fund was valued at less than it had been purchased for ten years earlier. And the Annuity company told me that the sale was not taxable - But nothing I did would change the tax program from making the sale taxable income! It was very frustrating and I couldn't find a way around it I know I should have called TurboTax but I had many complications at the time and I didn't call. I should probably do that now - soon - after this tax deadline passes and things quiet down.
- One year I had a question and was connected to a CPA who was very helpful about that question; it didn't cost me anything extra and I felt it was very valuable to have that help - and that's when I realized that TurboTax really was the superior tax program to use - and so I have used it ever since! Therefore I don't think it would be smart for TurboTax to take that feature away or charge extra for it. It's a real inducement to go with TurboTax!
Basically I feel this is quite a good, helpful, easy to use and thorough tax program - and I appreciate all that!
- There might have been times when I was confused by certain terms or instructions - but it seems that eventually I got things straightened out. The most important thing to me that TurboTax should do consistently is to straighten out ambiguities or things that can be confusing. I'm confused enough as it is!!! If you bear that in mind in general I think it will help you to make the most effective tax program.

I started with Personal Tax Edge back in the 1990's, switched to TurboTax when Intuit bought out PTE. Have been using TurboTax ever since.

Once again, taxes made easy!!

I've used TurboTax for 10+ years and it just keeps getting better each year. Additionally I use Quicken...tax filing doesn't get any easier.
What's great about it: Detailed, easy to follow, reasonable priced
What's not so great: None

Delighted User since 2006

I am not a tax professional, so I have always looked for conformity to the tax return documents, conformity to the tax code, ease of comprehension, ease of use, and comfort that the end result is accurate. Each of those requirements has been met year in and year out since I became a user in 2006. Furthermore, the use of non-technical language makes me feel that almost anyone can navigate through this. Although I am a long-term user, I continue to be delighted with this software and look forward to more and more 3rd party firms and W-2 providers to allow end users to download directly into TurboTax.
What's great about it: Reliability and Trust in Accuracy
What's not so great: Wish I could download from wider variety of financial services

Another filing successfully completed!

This was my most complex filing and I knew I would owe money. Having used TurboTax previously, all pertinent information from past returns was transferred successfully, saving me lots of time and effort. I also like having the ability to transfer information from my external accounts directly, without having to enter them myself. I completed my return by the end of February but, knowing I owed money, decided to wait until the last day to file. I did a final review in early April and on the 15th submitted my return. I like being able to save ALL of the forms - those used to file the return as well as all calculation sheets. Wonderful product!!!
What's great about it: Easy to navigate on my own but help is available when needed
