Overall excellent except for printing my return. I shouldn't have to save a pdf file and print from that, but rather be able to print directly from TurboTax.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I bought or sold investments

Made a difficult process doable

This was my first attempt at doing my own taxes after many years. It works and leads you down the path.
My previous tax preparer gave us a work sheet to fill out each year. It did the same thing; however, you then paid for them to organize what you brought in.
This was a great experience, despite several incomes, a home, charitable deductions, and charity mileage it worked great.
I will certainly do this next year.

What's great about it: Walks you right thru every step
What's not so great: Difficult to figure out how to go back after you ask a question

Rents and Royalties.- need clarification re where data is entered. ie 1099 MISC or Rent and Royalty form.
Unclear how to use PIN in E-filing
What's great about it: Basically straight forward
What's not so great: A few forms need more clarification for entering data - eg, Rents and Royalties

Better each year

I have used Turbo Tax for several years and find that each year the flow of processes is better. This year the steps seemed a bit clearer and the links with resources had concise, clear explanations that were usually good enough so you did not have to wade through IRS explanations.
What's great about it: clear steps with helpful links for explanations
What's not so great: big program so sometimes slow to load
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Better than ok, but

Most everything is a breeze and very helpful. But not a good explanation or nomenclature or form access or guidance for figuring out the amount of capitol gains to be taxed on a sale of your primary home.
What's great about it: Helpful easy drive through
What's not so great: Improve capitol gains taxable amount on sale of primary home

Have used TubroTax for years and have all that historical data for reference. Really like the electronic filing. Keeps getting easier and easier to use each year.
