Easy but pricey

I have used Turbo Tax for years, but the cost for the program, plus two states and filing two states is just really high. I can get them done by a professional for almost the same price.
What's great about it: Easy to use
What's not so great: Every thing is an extra fee
Pros: I bought or sold investments

Easy File is even BETTER!!

I have used TurboTax since it first came out ... hasn't that been at least the last 15 years!! i couldn't picture doing my taxes any other way!! intuit has perfected an already outstanding product!
AND at a very reasonable price! They do all of the research and know all of the latest rulings. PLUS they have this interactive approach that really makes one feel like they want to give you every possible deduction and save you money on your taxes.
I always feel confident that I am filing correctly and will not be audited. They even provide reviews and checks to ensure that one is filing correctly and isn't missing anything important!!
Again ... TurboTax let's you RELAX doing your TAX!!

What's not so great: You haven't developed the interface connecting directly to my brain!!

Mostly good. Some information was difficult to find and sometimes it was difficult to locate detailed information to answer questions. Next year add access to a PDF copy of the publications for easy access and more information and/or clarification.

Hidden charges

I already purchased the Premium Turbo Tax version, but was asked at the end, just before filing that I needed to repurchase it again.
You kind of have me over a barrel so I went ahead and repurchased, but I do not believe that I was charged correctly

Good but not happy with the changes

I always tell folks, somewhat sarcastically given the nature of the exercise, that using Turbo Tax makes filing taxes fun. As usual, stepping through the Turbo Tax questions makes certain that I'm not missing anything. However, because my spouse took a small job and was paid less than $2,000 and received a 1099-MISC this year, we would have been required to buy a Premium copy (more expensive) of Turbo Tax instead of the Deluxe copy (used because we have a State income tax to file, also). Although Turbo Tax allowed for a free upgrade to the Premium copy, this wasn't what they intended to do when they came out with this new gradation of the versions of Turbo Tax. I'm happy that they attempted to make amends for their less than full communications about the different versions, but I am not happy with the intent of Intuit in creating the Premium category...in other words, Intuit wanted more money for the same product this year.
What's great about it: Easy to complete & thorough
What's not so great: Deluxe copy no longer enough

First time fantastic

This was my first time using Turbo Tax. In the past I had just filled in the forms and mailed everything. My husband started using Turbo Tax, so this year I did our taxes. Its great. I like being able to look up information. I like being able to undue mistakes. I like that it prompts you for Deductions you may not know about. The Information I got from Turbo Tax will help us get even more deductions next year.
