I was very dissappointed to discover after almost completing my return that there was a cap on the number of rental properties. This should have been disclosed upon purchase.
What's not so great: Very dissappointed with limit to the number of rental properties

Not as smooth as last year.

This year I was disappointed with several aspects of the process.
For an unkown reason it was unable to open my saved pdf file from last year. When I tried a non pdf verison of the file I had saved, it had no problem. this year I did not see the choice for saving a non pdf file, so I'm already worried about next year.

2) It imported information that needed to be changed and I did not catch this until I reviewed on my own. One related to an estate that closed in 2013 and one related to capital contribution of partners.
3) When I attempted to print out, it gave me a message there were errors on my return, yet the smart review showed no errors.
4) It went into a circle after the state return was completed and would not let me out of the loop to continue. It kept going back to prior screens.
5) Though I have used for several years, it seemed format changed and was more awkward than in prior years.
2014 was not as smooth and problem free as 2013.
What's great about it: I think it got the job done.
What's not so great: See review...multiple issues.

Tax time, again

It is much improved this year. The questions asked were easy to follow, especially the 1099-DIV entries. Always afraid I'll goof the input of this information. Got caught one year!! My fault. Otherwise, I an tempted to change to other tax preparation software by family members but choose to stick with Turbo Tax.
What's great about it: Really easy to maneuver, however, forget we are retired so don't have W-2s.
What's not so great: More clearly explain that if retired and no income from a job, there will be no W-2s.

Quick and Easy

I downloaded the updates and I was on my way. My taxes were prepared in a relatively short time and I was very impressed by the attention to details offered by TurboTax. I had some losses due to investments and TurboTax downloaded the premium level free to help me continue without any interruption.

Easy File is even BETTER

I have used Turbo-Tax since it first came out ... hasn't that been at least the last 15 years!! I couldn't picture doing my taxes any other way!! Intuit has perfected an already outstanding product!
AND at a very reasonable price! They do all of the research and know all of the latest rulings. Plus they have this interactive approach that really makes one feel like they want to give you every deduction and save you money on your taxes.
I always feel confident that I am filing correctly and will not get audited. They even provide reviews and checks to ensure that one is filing correctly and isn't missing anything important!!
AGAIN ... Turbo-Tax let's you RELAX doing your TAX!!
AND at a very reasonable price! They do all of the research and know all of the latest rulings. Plus they have this interactive approach that really makes one feel like they want to give you every deduction and save you money on your taxes.

Stock sales area

Some of our long term stocks were transferred from a prior broker, so I have the info. Wasn't clear whether I should put in the basis ( I did ). Also why does Minnesota have problems in January with Turbo Tax, I know after a while they said they would accept, but still is alarming. I think Turbo needs to send more info to Minnesota clients as what is going on.
What's great about it: each year you continue to make it clear and easy for me to enter the info required.
What's not so great: Concerns over no basis info from Broker
