Better than the past versions

I have used Turbo tax since 1990 to file my taxes. This is the best version ever for being able to get around to different areas. In the past it seemed like you could get lost and not get back to the correct entry screen. This would often cause error messages in the reviews that were difficult to correct. I don't see those problems in this version.
What's great about it: much easier to move around in. doesn't seem as cumbersom to go back or go forward to different screens.
What's not so great: none that I experienced.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I bought or sold investments

Missed the mark on stock sales

Been using TT for years, always felt it was worth the $ just to save hand calc and reading time. Last year (2013) was especially pleased when TT premium imported and handled my ESPP and NQ company stock grants and sales. Unfortunately in 2014 they went backwards and couldn't import correctly. In addition the explanations and definitions are short of where they should be for someone who does this once a year. Will re-evaluate my options for 2015. Could also use more help on AMT advice and calculations. Perhaps I just need to readjust my expectations and use as a forms filler
What's great about it: usual good quality on pedestrian return
What's not so great: Importing of stock info regressed

Simple to use and handles most complex situations

Saves so much work!

I don't know why anyone would use a commercial tax preparer. Once you have the numbers together, all you have to do is input them to the correct form. Calculations are automatic. Every year I have a new element to consider and TurboTax has the information I need to learn what I need to know to complete my return. Been using this software for many years.
What's great about it: Ability to download investment information. Ensures all input numbers go to every pertinent form.

TurboTax is Easier than a tax accountant

I have been using TurboTax for the past 10 years. It keeps getting better each year. It sure beats trying to understand the complex Federal and State forms and obscure instructions. I have consistently obtained bigger refunds with TurboTax for my family than they ever got from the so-called "Tax Professionals".
Doing taxes is never easy, but TurboTax makes it as easy as possible. The biggest benefit is that there is NEVER a mathematical error.
TurboTax always finds deductions and tax credits that are often ignored by Tax Professionals. When it makes the calculation to see if we are eligible, it is always right.
You can do some "what if" trial returns to see how you might be able distribute deductions between persons to get the biggest refunds, when those options exist.
I confess that I have not tried other Tax programs. They may do the same thing, but I am a confirmed TurboTax junkie and not likely to switch. Besides, it keeps getting better and easier each year.
What's great about it: Every step is prompted and great explanations are provided.
What's not so great: Some special complex situations may not be completely covered.

Improvement that would help.

It would help me if Turbo Tax would automatically save a copy of my return return on a "cloud" server which I could access in a pinch. This year I somehow lost the copy of my 2013 tax file when I replaced my computer. This is still a mystery to me but I suspect that I am not the only one who has had this happen.

Quick and convenience

I used to file tax returns all by myself without any other assistance (software, CPA, etc.). Since using TurboTax for electronic filing, I found that it saves me a lot of time and dig around where I could find a deduction, etc. Strongly recommended.
What's great about it: Quick and convenience
What's not so great: Lost track of tax knowledge and became more dependence on software
