Poor customer support

1st time on turbo Tax. Got to the end, was charged for efiling 3 returns, but returns did not go through. called several times and was either hung up on by computer or told to expect a return call which never came. website provided no relief either.
What's great about it: software worked ok on fed, not on states
What's not so great: Kicked out of program, unable to reach customer support

Felt Confident

I have been a Turbo Tax user for many years and like the ease and the helpful tips and explanations provided as you navigate through the program. I feel confident that the tax return was done completely, accurately and I was able to take all the deductions afforded to me. I will continue to use for years to come.
What's great about it: Easy step by step process with wondeful help

Decent, can be confusing

I've used turbotax for years, mostly positive (obviously, since still using). I'm not able to use the lower-rung due to some complicated situations (I own an s-corp we use an actual accountant for, but receive a K-1, my husband has some tax oddities in his employment). Anyway, I know there was the whole thing over the tiers changing; while it didn't affect us too much this year, I do find it silly you'd have to get Home & Business simply to do a simple schedule c for some occasional freelance writing, etc. I also find myself not always confident that it flags problems (but maybe that's just me!) Every year it's kind of do the best I can, cross fingers & file...
What's great about it: Entry of most items, transfer of past data
What's not so great: for as much as premier costs and does, allowing schedule C for small freelance gigs would be more reasonable

Easy and Efficient
on April 15, 2015

This year was one of the most efficient that I can remember! Unfortunately, I had to pay quite a bit, but that is my fault for not planning :-(
A suggestion: when a dependent college student has used all four years of the American Opportunity Credit, remind the parent / taxpayer that they should plan on paying more tax the following year!
What's great about it: The import features saved me a lot of time
Pros: I bought or sold investments

More difficult this year
on April 15, 2015

See above. i will probably not be using Turbo Tax next year.
What's great about it: Downloads my previous year's information; leads me though the process
What's not so great: Some confusing changes with more steps re: teacher pension and item contributions, and actually e-filing. Wi

Rough experience this year

If your return is complicated just download the software rather than using the on-line version. Once I started with the on-line version it was very difficult to import my 2013 filing info into the return that I had started on-line.
I am going to have to go back through everything and probably file an amended return.
Technical support was not as good as in previous years.
The on-line version steered me unnecessarily into attempting to establish a new IP PIN through IRS which was a whole extra set of problems, headaches and delays that in the end I didn't need to do. The on-line version demanded that I needed a new six digit PIN - I didn't - but it took hours to figure that out and get the information I needed to use my existing PIN. Big waste of time.
What's great about it: Thorough
What's not so great: Hated the on-line version and downloaded the premier edition
