Publically traded partnerships section needs work

Nearly everything I used was fairly easy and worked well.
-imports of data (W-2, brokerage information
-most items were well explained with links to relevant IRS documents if needed.
The interview and handling of full or partial sales of PTPs (K-1s' ) is a mess and really ought to be fixed. This has been a known issue for years. There is no obvious way to handle multiple lots bought and sold at different times.

What's great about it: Imports of W-2 and brokerage statements was easy and accurate.
What's not so great: sales of MLPs are at best misleading and at worst-wrong

No 5329 form or abiltiy to file with one

What's not so great: I needed to file a 5329 for not making an IRA RMD and the softwarre was not accomodating for that form

Very Good

Just know you'll have to invest a little more if your going to e-file in your state. Not included with the purchase price.
What's great about it: Easy to Use, comprehensive
What's not so great: Filing Fees for State E-File
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

not sure why some sections continued through all the questions, while other sections & CA state tax kept reverting back to main credit page so that one had to go to each sub section separately each time it flipped back to the main credit page
What's great about it: user friendly
What's not so great: inconsistent operation when going through sections

Thorough and unambiguous

Program virtually assures that the resulting tax return will be error free; that is tremendously reassuring. The process is tedious, but not nearly as bad as completing the return without the guidance of Turbo Tax. I can not think of any process improvements which Turbo Tax could make. Top notch.
What's great about it: Leads one "by the hand" if desired and/or presents forms if preferred.
What's not so great: Keyboard down arrow often is disabled; one must use scroll bar.

K-1 schedulle is a mess

Filling in a K-1 schedule took longer that doing the entire taxes. This need to be revised since the instructions on how to file a KMP K1 schedule are not intuitive and confusing.
On the K1 schedule unnecessary forms for S corp were added without an option to delete or skip.
did not get a return this year. I had to pay.
What's great about it: Very good step by step instructions
What's not so great: step by step instructions on K-1 schedull incomplete and confuising

Fast and Easy

Doing my tax returns was fast and easy. The questions were easy to understand. I felt very comfortable that my taxes were done correctly. I really liked the tax history report that I got because I've used Turbo Tax now for 5 years.
What's great about it: I did my taxes in 2 hours
What's not so great: It cost to much to transmit my state taxes.
