Easy as it gets for taxes!!

I have used Turbo Tax for the past few years and it is always super easy and I typically end up getting credits I didn't know I was eligible for since I was a student.
What's great about it: Walk through, thorough review and comprehensive questions.
What's not so great: Almost too easy ;)

Didn't appreciate needing to upgrade
on April 14, 2015

in past years I could use the deluxe version of the software to enter all my information including K-1's. This year when I went to enter the K-1 information I was told I had to upgrade to the premium version. Another $30.00 dollars. That was the only feature of the Premium Edition that I used. This year is was worth the $30.00 because I needed to finish my return, but for my 2015 taxes I may shop around for new software because 5 minutes of data entry wasn't worth $30.00
What's great about it: Great Product
What's not so great: I had to upgrade to premium to finish my return

I don't understand a lot of what you were asking me. I thought everything was fine and then as I got ready to file you asked me a lot of strange questions that I didn't understand.
I keep on thinking that i'll never use you again but I get in a pinch and I come back. I'm always sorry that I did.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I moved, I bought or sold investments

I don't look forward to doing my taxes but at least Turbo Tax makes the experience bearable.
What's great about it: Very helpful and easy to navigate; better than 2013
What's not so great: None apparent

Even Multi-State Returns Are Easy
on April 14, 2015

Some of the instructions sounded like you did not owe tax to a state where you worked but did not reside (in this case, living in NYC & working in New Jersey for part of a year (changed jobs). Hopefully, all will be OK. TurboTax didn't complain anyway.
What's great about it: Generally straight forward
What's not so great: Was concerned about part-year 2nd state return, but it seems to be OK
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I moved, I bought or sold investments

Good Product

I think Turbo Tax worked the best for me this year that it ever has. The federal part seemed improved. Specifically, importing various 1099 DIV and INT and stock trades was all done without manual fixes. My federal return asked the right questions and went smoothly. The Oregon program leaves something to be desired. Appropriate questions based on my 2013 return were not asked. I would have missed quite a few state items had I not downloaded a state publication in PDF form and used it to double check my turbo-tax. Plus memory of past year's state returns also helped. I use Turbo Tax Premier and have both rental real estate and brokerage transactions as well as differences in depreciation between my federal and state return.
What's great about it: Importing brokerage information worked this year
What's not so great: can require clicking through many screens to update an item.

Not as good as it used to be (or seem)

A number of places where there are ambiguities, there is no help to figure it out. Lot's of help where things are straight forward.
What's great about it: Good, very basic algorithm
What's not so great: Any degree of complication and it confuses itself
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Keeps me coming back each year and covers any possible
change in my life. Good system check on key data
What's great about it: no side roads for errors
What's not so great: question the time for down load?
