It took me hours going back through stock statements figuring cost basis on mining stocks i bought back in 2006, 2008 and 2009. Multi splits and reverse splits to figure out original stock symbols. Previous 2 years it made it so much easier. That was the only reason I bought the premier version. Since this feature was not included can i get some sort of refund?
What's not so great: this year they did not have option to figure cost basis on stocks

TurboTax Invest & Rental Property Premiere 2014

It was not obvious when I purchased my copy of TurboTax Deluxe that it did not support doings investments. I had to make a 2nd trip to the retail store to exchange and pay the difference for the Investments and Rental Property (Premium) to fix this problem.
To Intuit's credit they did take steps to address the problem.
What's great about it: Relatiive Easy to Use
What's not so great: Switch by TurboTax to require Premium not Deluxe for Investment Properties

Bummed

I am strongly considering changing to another service... Tons of money just because I sold a stock!!!????!!! Ridiculous. Furthermore, the difficulty importing previous information was frustrating. My worst TT experience yet.

Easy - but I owed!

It was difficult to add depreciation items. There were options such as property, computers, etc. but none for roof or windows
What's great about it: organized. could go back and forth to check
What's not so great: a bit confusing on depreciation and adding assets

I went to a tax preparer and was in shock at the cost for them to do my taxes because of the forms required. I decided to give TurboTax a try. I was so very happy I did because it saved me over $250 in fees.

Unclear information at time of purchase

What a joke! The site will not accept meaningful feedback. Please call me for a truthful summary of my experience this year. I have been a faithful TurboTax user for more than 12 years and I find this feedback tool this year has been totally useless.
What's great about it: Reliable software for standard use; but not suitable for multiple real estate transactions
What's not so great: Software glitch led to being overcharge...CA and FL (which does not have a state income tax)

No headaches

TurboTax is the easy way to file your taxes. This year (2014) my Federal and State tax returns totaled 88 pages (including all the required work sheets). This would have been a monumental headache if I had to prepare each one manually. Fortunately, TurboTax had compressed this IRS nightmare into simple to answer questions, from which the software program generated the needed filing documents. Until the country introduces a flat tax system, your best bet is to use TurboTax.
What's great about it: Answer easy questions and forget trying to wade through a maze of IRS documents and forms.
