challenges with fully loading deluxe

have used TurboTax for 20 years, always great, sometimes with the disk, sometimes by download. For 2014 I bot deluxe, as always. Initial challenge was a bug that would not allow the program to update via the web. entered data without the updates only to discover that this year deluxe did not include investment related forms, would have to pay $30 more for premier. however, the same problem, couldn't access the web to upgrade to premier. after two days of searching online chat, I discovered the suggestion to reboot. That did the trick, it finally was able to access the updates. Clearly this was a common bug because when I went to upgrade to premier, the cost was $0, so kudos to Intuit for reacting quickly to the problem. Other than this item, program worked great, as always.
What's great about it: program worked great ONCE it loaded correctly
What's not so great: took 3 days and lots of searching to solve the update problem

I heard that your company was having problems, but you were working on corrections. I love your software and decided to use. I had faith that you would fix the problem. I Filed my federal and state returns without any problems. I will use this again and again. I checked with some of the other tax prep companies and ask their people some questions. I did not like their answers. I decided I could do better and learn something for the next tax season. I learning a lot. Thanks

Another Tax Year made Easy

Another tax year made easy thanks to Turbo Tax. I don't think there's anyway I could do this with forms alone. I like how I can see how this year compares to last year, but it would be neat to have an option that allows me to see even further back than the previous year since I have about 10years of filings using Turbo Tax.
What's great about it: Very Easy to Navigate
What's not so great: Like to do it myself comparing it to last year, but would like to see things over several years.

For the most part was good

Most of the steps were completed without problems. However, when seeking help on "Inherited Property Sales" , I was led in circles. I had to dig deeply to find what I needed.
What's great about it: The usual steps were clear and precise
What's not so great: Help was not always helpful
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

So fast!

I do appreciate that Turbo Tax will occasionally note "This is not common" for some tax questions that arise. That is helpful.
What's great about it: Importing of W-2s is wonderful.
What's not so great: Almost seems too easy - potential to make a careless mistake.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Not as advertised

I ended up having to buy a second Turbo Tax because it was not clear on the label which one I needed.
What's great about it: Most questions were clear
What's not so great: What level of return needed was not clear
Pros: I moved, I bought or sold investments

Amazing Program!

I used to have a "professional" accountant accomplish my taxes. Two years in a row, I was audited for mistakes that she made and had to pay fees and penalties. I switched to Turbo Tax and haven't been audited since and no errors are being made. No red flags. I assumed that I would rather pay for my own mistakes than pay for someone else.
