Product has gone downhill since I began using several years ago. If it weren't for the fact I could import from my broker I would have switched to a different product.
What's great about it: import from brokerage
What's not so great: havving to upgrade, product is getting harder to use and handle
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I bought or sold investments

Problems with a looping issue

I had a problem when trying to change the number of days worked in the City of Detroit. It would not allow for me to enter a new number of days than what was on the W-2. My employer failed to provide the correct number of days.

Another Good TurboTax Year!
on April 14, 2015

This is really a very easy way to do taxes. I have a rental property as well and with all the deductions, it's just so easy to use. The info check followed by the audit check are 100% "anxiety reducers" for sure!
What's great about it: Sooooo easy! Love it! I think this is my seventh year using TurboTax!
What's not so great: None

What's great about it: Have never had a problem yet with forms filed.
What's not so great: It is sometimes difficult back tracking once saved and reopened.

NJ had some "catch all" type instructions that were hard to follow. Statements on the instructions said things like "any other income", which is confusing, and the forms included were very vague.
What's great about it: help and step by step instructions are good for federal
What's not so great: individual state step by step instructions are lacking, especially for NJ.
Pros: I had a baby

2014 review of premier
on April 14, 2015

I found the tool easy to use except in a couple of situations...
1) I was on the borderline between std and itemized deductions...it took standard deductions but when I reviewed details I noticed that it had not given me my sales tax deduction even though I said to guide me thru the process. When I added my sales tax deduction, it pushed me over the threshold to itemized deductions.
2) I found it very difficult in filling out the capital gains information in turbo tax based upon the documents that I received....the references to boxes and type of gain did not match up...so I had to try several things....
3) the difference between deluxe which I have always used in the past vs premier as very confusing...
What's great about it: for the most part I found it easy to use except for a couple of sections
What's not so great: std vs itemized deductions & capital gains

What's great about it: Good info on website for complicated tax returns
What's not so great: Kind of tedious to keep going back to things you have already reviewed but probably needed
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I moved

Disk Version Worse than the Web Version
on April 14, 2015
Posted by: CharlesBoston
The CDROM version is not nearly as user friendly as the web version. It is also very annoying that it can not grab data from my previous web version filing. Not very happy with this one.
What's great about it: Dis version doesn't need constant internet access
What's not so great: Disk version does not transfer prior year data from web version
