Harder to use this year

The help feature simply takes you to a forum with a bunch of questions and answers that don't always have much to do with your problem.
Overall the interface seems to be more difficult to use if you need for any reason to leave step by step and find something to check, fix or review.
What's great about it: step by step feature
What's not so great: harder to find entries on actual forms

I Turbo Tax every year

I have been using Turbo Tax for several years and plan to continue. However, this year I had to wait longer than usual due to a scare that came about in regards to filing states taxes and there being a breach of security. I waited until I found out that all was well again until I filed. This is the first year that I was very nervous filing with Turbo Tax. Please keep up the great work and keep us informed. Preferably before we hear it in the news.

Overall it is good. Initially some of the information that I entered was incorrect. The software should have a feature that 'should you want to save' before closing TurboTax
What's great about it: Liked walking through the entire process
What's not so great: Should have a save option overtime when you revise.
Pros: I bought or sold investments

Even When Complicated Return, TurboTax is Simple!

I work in multiple states, and have to file in several states each year. TurboTax makes the process really simple and gets me back in refunds far more than it costs to add additional states each year.
What's great about it: Easily handles multiple states

Makes mistakes!

I've used TurboTax for years, so a lot of the ease of use for me is simple familiarity. But this also means familiarity with TurboTax's shortcomings. I file Federal and New York State, and this year had the following problems:
* The incorrect amount for last year's state refund was reported into this year's Federal return. It ignored the actual refund and calculated something that didn't account for NY's child care and school credit, which then understated my actual refund.
* I have interest from muni bond funds. Some of that interest is from NY bonds, and is tax-exempt in New York. The rest is not. TurboTax has a really hard time with this, even if I edit the 1099 to include the tax-exemption information. I basically have to manually put in a subtraction from income.
* If you override a value, TurboTax doesn't tell you that you can't e-file until the very last moment, after you've given it all of the e-filing information. I had to change the way I got around the tax-exemption problem to avoid this problem.
