Superb

I've use TurboTax for 20 years and every year it gets better and easier. Very intuitive for all elements of my return (multiple K-1's, multiple investment accounts and activities, and deductions in many categories. Feel good when I hit the "file" button.
What's great about it: Very Intuitive
What's not so great: Does not "create" deductions

Tax Software is So-So

I enjoyed using the software. It helped me file my complicated tax returns on my own. The software also helped me minimize the taxes I owed. A few complaints I have about the software (which also dropped my rating) is that there was problem with transferring information from my rental properties to a state return. I had to manually go back, see what I entered in my federal, and then re-enter it in the state. Also, there were times I entered information on my rental properties and if I went back to check it, the information was different from how I left it. That seemed like a glitch in the software. In addition, I had to file tax returns for 5 different states (due to having out-of-state rental properties). It was expensive purchasing software for 4 extra states (in addition to the 1 free state included). Overall though, I will probably use this software again.
What's great about it: Great job with tax savings
What's not so great: Software issues, Expensive for multiple state returns
Pros: I had a baby, I bought or sold investments

Turbo Tax Review 2014

Very easy to use.I have confidence tht it is done correctly. I like that it fills in the tables. I tried doing that on my own one year and it was too confusing. I like that it checks for mistakes and rates how likely I would be audited. Very good program.

What's not so great: Really none. It is great one can print out the forms for a visual for what Turbo Tax did.

Kind of fun, actually

Overall. Fantastic experience. A couple of little things:
- when you re-visit a topic, you get asked all the same questions again; you can't jump to the issue.
- I would expect TT to tell me whether or not to calculate the depreciation expense on a room rental. It seems like you can, but I'm not sure you are supposed to. This is a common enough situation that it deserves a pop-up!

What's great about it: The early questions about your situation limit the data you have to enter and save lots of time.
What's not so great: I'm not really confident that I did my rental property correctly. Too many decisions for me to make.

Very frustrating when it came to e-file. Too many hoops to jump thru to get past the notice it could not display webpage
What's great about it: Walking through the process was great!!!
What's not so great: E-file was very frustrating
