Got ONE done...

I really think TuroTax and your competitors need to be much more "forward-looking' to LGBT married couples. There was little or no additional assistance to help us this year and YES, we live in MARYLAND a state that recognizes our marriage. Even the State of Maryland was very, very poor with assistance for us.
What's great about it: Quick & Easy....
What's not so great: I'm in a LGBT marriage...not much information for us!
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Turbo tax is great to use if you don't have anything out of the ordinary to report. But make it confusing to report extras.
What's great about it: Made easy on somethings
What's not so great: Made very confusing on reporting royalties

Everything worked out pretty good except on the NC state tax there was an error in the program that did not give my wife credit for he federal retirement per the bailey settlement. We had to go into the program to correct this.
What's great about it: program is easy to use
What's not so great: cost went up a lot from last year

trubotax deluxe fed + state

I have been a loyal member of TurboTax deluxe for years - as you can see. After transferring the details from 2013 tax year to file 2014 taxes, the app said that I have to upgrade to premier to do that and that it will be done as a free upgrade. Is this going to change to a chargeable upgrade? If so, I have to really think of other options. I am not sure why you have decided to take this option away from deluxe version and will not subscribe to such a change. Your loyal turbotax deluxe user.
What's great about it: easy to use - been using for 15+ years
What's not so great: upgrading to premier package to file rental income

Another Year for Turbo-Tax
on April 14, 2015

I am glad they added the investment piece back in to the Premium product for free - charging extra for that piece was not a good move. One bit of confusion - if you rent out a room in your room it prorates the taxes to the rental. If not careful, you can enter your property taxes twice! (once for the rental prop details and once for the normal deduction section) Otherwise the software worked as in past years. Very reliable and comfortable.
What's great about it: Excellent walk through
What's not so great: Asks for 2013 data for AMT calculation but the 2013 was uploaded so the software knew it existed!
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)
