So nice not to have to re-enter information tax year to tax year. It remembers information from last year, but gives you the chance to change if necessary.

Dividends are poison

Unbelievable complexity in dividends makes me want to sell stocks or not report them. I know the IRS did this, but I was not prepared to make an irreversible decision on how to treat them. I didn't see a helpful prompt leading me out of the wilderness. Really - what country were the dividends earned in??? AWK!!
I saw on the Costco website an apology from Turbo Tax for forcing everyone with simple interest and dividends to upgrade to Premier. Is there a way to receive the difference in cost of the uograde?

What's great about it: Return completed
What's not so great: People with simple interest and dividends were forced to buy the Piemier package.

Getting better

Due to the turmoil at the beginning of tax season on the "lost" forms I almost went to another tax program, I stuck with Turbo Tax because I am familiar with it. True to your word, when I did my fathers taxes & I needed the additional forms they were downloaded seamlessly. Thank you. Every time you need a "copy" turbo tax automatically prints unnecessary forms like mailing instructions over. I appreciate being able to use up to five e-files free included (I use 3). Just wish the States would include the same free e-files. (I realize this is not Turbo tax doing this).
What's great about it: included ALL the forms needed when it was required for my situation.
What's not so great: I still have a hard time isolating certain forms to print for my records.
Pros: I bought or sold investments

Fast some what easy and the help desk was great. I have used turbo tax for a few years now and its fast. No need to pay some ________ (you fill in the blank) CPA to fill out forms a grade school-er could do in twenty minutes.
What's great about it: easy to use
What's not so great: had to call help line twice for software problems

This year's experience does NOT inspire confidence

I have used TurboTax for over 20 yearsand have been very satisfied, but this year's experiences with the Deluxe version "downgrade" as a backdoor way to raise prices and all the publicity surrounding efiling security issues will give me pause before I use it for 2015 returns.
What's great about it: Easy to Use. Familiar. Thorough
What's not so great: Customer Relations Image Problems

I found the instructions and help for the 1099Q form was not clear at all. I'm still not at all convinced it was applied correctly or we got the best benefit from it.
