Importing from a Financial Institution

Seems to have caused some confusion. Imported from WellsFargo and could see all my information but while stepping through the program I noticed I had to type in my 1098 to see the totals. Later during the audit it had problems with the associated worksheet thinking there were multiples.
What's great about it: Gathers information quickly
What's not so great: Didn't seem to add 1098 information into the program.

I'll have to say Turbo Tax is not as good as it used to be. Every time I logged into it again, I had to find it. Used to be it was right there at the "continue" spot.
What's great about it: works well on my MAC.
What's not so great: not as good

10 years and going strong!

Turbo Tax is awesome. It saves me time and headaches by walking me through a logical process. All I have to do is sort my piles of tax documents by type and follow the program! NOTHING could be easier when it comes to the pain we call taxes!
What's great about it: imports prior filings! saves a TON of time! print returns and related docs for quick and complete hard copy file by year
What's not so great: not free? nickname in the review.

Complete despite incompleteness

While TurboTax has this year performed well in covering the various tax situations, the Basic version was no longer useful to those of us who required more of the forms. To unlock those forms required an upgrade to a higher version, which is new this year. An example would be Schedule E.
The state version was a bit misleading when stating that my state (Tennessee) would issue a fine if the form was not filed for additional cost thru the TurboTax web site. While that is true for the TurboTax-prepared form, it turns out that the entries from the step-by-step process of the TurboTax state version could have been retyped on my state's taxation web site, and no penalty would have been assessed. This detail was unclear, and seems to be one of those higher-pressure marketing techniques designed to prove once again that "knowledge is power."
What's great about it: Completely covered situations
What's not so great: Basic version was incomplete, and access to forms required upgrade

Premier is pretty good

I've been using TurboTax since at least 1998, and clearly am generally satisfied with it. The introduction of the interview style was a somewhat troubling change for a while, but I have come to use it more. Nonetheless I think it is critical to be able to examine the various forms as well, and I hope this never goes away.. Experienced users will like the ability to trace back to source documents, although at times the trace can get complicated. Being able to e-File is a genuine pleasure. I still run TurboTax on WIN-XP and it still moves reasonably fast.
What's great about it: Easy to import data from financial institutions
What's not so great: Problem with IRA rollovers
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

It would be nice if you could get Social Security Info from an import source. I imagine the government won't let you do it though.
What's great about it: OK, just what I expected.
Pros: I moved

Turbo Tax is a very comprehensive and complete tax preparation tool. After 40+ years of being a practicing CPA, and preparing thousands of tax returns, I had to purchase my own tax software when I retired. I was able to understand Turbo Tax the first time. I found it very user friendly and very thorough. It does not miss a thing. I did have to go over a couple of areas a few times to ensure I entered all required info (on partnership K-1's for example).
What's great about it: Very thorough
What's not so great: A few little places where I stubbed my toes
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)
