Disappointed this year

One of the things I like is the interview style of the TurboTax interface. TurboTax saves me from having to learn all of the changes that occur in tax codes from year to year.
The biggest complaint I've had is trying to find a TurboTax phone number to call for assistance with questions. It could not find one in the software or on the website. Researching the support site after posting a question, I found that others had asked the same question and had the same concern that I had with a state form. The questions had not been answered.
Until now, I have been somewhat satisfied with TurboTax. However, I'm going to look for alternatives next year.
What's great about it: Automatic gathering of information from last year's tax return. (I have been using TurboTax for years.)
What's not so great: There appears to be a mistake on one of my state forms. Could not find a phone number to call for assistance.

Easy Tax 14

Kept telling me that couldn't download state forms. However, when hit the "continue" button it was there. Magic!
Worked great and was easy to use. Walked me right through the process. Had a couple of questions about investment expenses that couldn't find answers but didn't take the time to ask either.
What's great about it: Quick, thorough, & easy
What's not so great: Trouble downloading state forms
Pros: I bought or sold investments

Very Helpful for many years

Other than the following, has been helpful & mind-comforting for a long, long time. Imported this year for the first time after entering some info by hand. Discovered I had duplicated data; difficult to find and remove. Need a warning message to import BEFORE seeing if any additional detail is needed. Lastly, on FNMA & GNMA supplemental sheets for long and short term gain, the results need summarizing by type rather than a separate entry for each monthly date. Was seemingly unnecessarily time consuming to provide cost data for return of principal payments as is.
What's great about it: Extremely detailed; impossible to miss anything.
What's not so great: Importing and WHMT detail handling needs improving
Pros: I bought or sold investments

(1) Not user friendly with Mac
(2) Crashes multiple times
(3) Doesn't ever work when I choose the option DON"T SAVE CHANGES / REVERT CHANGES
OVERALL, I MAY TEND TO DISCONTINUE IN FUTUTRE USING THIS SOFTWARE, IF THESE PROBLEMS PERSIST
What's great about it: Not many
What's not so great: Many

Top Down
on April 14, 2015

I have mentioned this every year for the last few years and nothing ever gets done to improve it. I find that when indexing through income or deduction groups that as I end one catagory I am automatically moved to the top position in the listing. Then to get to the next catagory I manually have to scroll down to the next catagory.
If the next catagory automatically appeared at the top of the column instead of the bottom of the catagory it would be a whole lot easier to advance trhough them.
