Very easy to use. Once you have the first year set up it is a piece of cake to enter the info for the current year. It prompts you for everything, and if no investments have changed you are on easy street to file

Observations on 2014 TAX

Greetings! As in year’s past I used Intuit’s Turbo Tax Premier to prepare my 2014 taxes. I have the following observations:
1. I know this was probably done for security reasons, but isn’t it possible for the program to save the password once it is entered to obviate the need to sign-in each time the program is launched?
2. One of the first options when starting the program is to import personal information from the previous year. I was unable to import last year’s personal information. Where is my 2013 information saved? Or did I forget to save it last year?
3. In the past, maybe back in 2012 it was possible to burn a copy of the tax statement but I have not seen that options available in the past couple years.
4. On filing this year’s statement electronically I was given two options. I used the AGI from last year’s statement but the IRS denied my submission. I subsequently used the phone number provided to reach the IRS and obtained a PIN and my 2014 tax was accepted. ALL IS WELL THAT ENDS WELL!

Great as usual. Makes filing taxes easy, esp if preparation is done. If not TT reminds you what to look for.

One major flaw

I really like Turbo Tax and have used it for years. However, this year, there was a question that we had to answer in order for our taxes to be e-filed and there was no acceptable answer, so we had to file by mail. Not what I wanted! The question had to do with a retirement plan that we had to know the value of when it first started. It was a govt. takeover plan and we had no answer for the question. My husband has gotten the same amount of $ every month since it started and that was 20 years ago! We've never had to answer this question before. Bummer.
What's great about it: Quick and easy
What's not so great: Would not e-file because of one question we could not answer

Refund Made Easy

Definitely recommend Turbo Tax. It has been so good for so many years I really don't see a need to try another brand. Also worth a premium just for the peace of mind it provides knowing that it will run smoothly and properly. Don't waste your time driving around or surfing the web for hours trying to save a few dollars. Just get Turbo Tax, get your taxes done, and get on with your life!
What's great about it: Step by Step Guidance through the whole process
What's not so great: would like for Turbo Tax to be able to access smaller credit unions for downloads of infornation.
Pros: I bought or sold investments
