Going Downhill...

I have used Turbo Tax Deluxe for at least 10 years. This year with the same tax situation, my return required the Premium edition (which they did upgrade this year for free) but costs more to start and also cost more to e-file state taxes. Even though I will need to re-enter all the basic information, I will be looking for a new product next year.
What's great about it: Could import last years taxes
What's not so great: This years changes not helpful.

Wondering About Next Year

Been using TT for over 20 years. great product and easy transferability from prior year return. Though disappointed to have to upgrade to Premier from Deluxe simply because I had investment activity this year.. I would think a Deluxe version would be able to handle this modest level of complexity in a tax return.
I know Intuit came out with many apologies and offered to issue a refund for the additional cost, but who knows what they will do next year. Will we be pushed to the Premier version again, at a higher price next year. I have never investigated other tax return preparation products, but may be forced to next year.
What's great about it: Easy to use, Transfer from Prior Year
What's not so great: Had to Upgrade to Premier version this year

Mostly annoying - more and more constrained year over year with over-emphasis on easy Q&A approach.
What's great about it: Normal step by step
What's not so great: Lacks easy allowance to step out of flow
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I moved

Easy to use

I definitely recommend this product to people who want an easy way to get their taxes completed.
What's great about it: Walks you through the process and complete in its coverage.
What's not so great: Not happy about having to pay to file my state return electronically

Excellent TT Basic software but didn't need Deluxe and Stocks and Bonds versions.
What's great about it: Liked how software did all my calculations
What's not so great: Bought Deluxe versions and could have done same with Basic as in 2013.

User friendly

Overall software is good at identifying data needed for a field entry but could be better for Form K1 entries where multiple field entries are required on a screen.
What's great about it: Does good job identifying all income and deductions,
What's not so great: Version functionality keeps getting more limited each year so cost of software needed keeps getting more expensive.
